Hi Everyone,

First post. I am a US born citizen but my finace is in India. We're discussing passport names. Before filing, should the passport be made under my name or generally hers? What are the passport requirments for India/USA?

Thanks,
H

Are you planning on getting married before chasing a visa or going the K1 fiancée route? Do you want to know about passports now or after marriage?

Hi,

Were going to get married first before filing the Spousal Visa. I want to know should we go ahead and start her passport docs with her name or join my name in (if it can decrease the processing time)

What we plan on doing is having a civil marriage next year. That is why I am wondering should we get her passport docs ready now and if so how? what is required. if we wait until the civil marriage then what? will it be delayed? whos name should we do it under? what are all the passport formalities?
