So we have our interview Wednesday morning at 07:30 and we're leaving tomorrow afternoon as soon as my husband gets home from work and we'll stay the night at a local hotel. Here's my little checklist of things to bring in our folder of documents for the interview. Anything missing I should add today to the pile?

  1. German passports

    - Proof of medical

    - Extra passport photos

  2. U.S. Passports

  3. Appointment confirmation

  4. DS-260 confirmation w/ barcode

  5. Document delivery registration confirmation

  6. U.S. Birth certificate

  7. German birth certificates (they have originals)

  8. Marriage certificate (they have original)

  9. Police certificate (they have original)

  10. Rental contract

    - Latest apartment bill

    - Proof of deposit

  11. An-/Abmeldung

  12. Gas/electric bills

  13. THHCC company letter (showing we have jobs already)

  14. Proof of having voted in OK election via absentee ballot

  15. Arvest bank stuff

Things to bring along:

Did you do DCF or did you do NVC processing? Not sure why you haven't paid the IV fee yet? If you have you do not need to pay it again?

Yeah we did DCF. They said the payment is due the first time they call my husband alone up to a counter where he gives up stuff like the fee and passport. We were exempt from the AOS fee, apparently...pretty cool! :)

Your case is very similar to ours.

Today a lady that used to work in Ciudad Juarez Consulate told me that my husband, he is the American citizen, should go to US before me to get an apartment and job. I explained her that he did not want to leave me behind so she recommended us to get job offers and take those letters with us to the interview.

Do you have job offers in USA? Maybe it is good idea to include the letters in your folder.

I thought it was about a German company. If it is from an US company, I think you got what I said already.

Good luck!

From the consulate reviews that I've read, they'll likely ask a couple questions and that'll be it, but it never hurts to be prepared! I'm sure we'll also bring a huge folder of paperwork when our time comes.

Me and the hubby took our petition to the consulate last week and it seemed all in order when we presented it to the guy at the window (well, we didn't get sent away to fill in any bits we had missed), so now our waiting has started!

I'm from the UK, hubby is from Michigan and is a retired US Army LTC.   We are currently stationed overseas.

11.18.14 - Returned to Scotland to renew our vows for our first wedding anniversary

01.08.15 - NOA2 received in snail mail, together with case number and Packet 3 instructions

02.17.15 - Packet 4 received by email with instructions to schedule medical and interview

02.18.15 - Email authorisation received from Consulate to gain access to appointment calendar

07.20.15 - Received SSN in mail

07.27.15 - Received 2 year green card in mail

Congratulations!!

When you have some time, can you please post how was the interview what the consul asked and things like those?

Were the job offers needed?
