Frustrated with NVC

I am beyond frustartated with this enitre process. My I-130 was approved on September 23. I had to call because it was beyond the 5 month timeframe. I was told my file would be sent to NVC in a week. So, I waited. Then on October 15 I received a message that my file was sent to NVC. :ranting: Why did it take more than 1 month for my file to be sent to NVC. So I called NVC and she said they received my file on October 23 , but they did not have a case number. So I've been calling every week and yet I still do not have case number. She says they are really behind and it could take up to 46 days to get a case number. I am livid. Why it take so long!!!! My patience is surely about to expire. At this point it may be easier just to pack it up and move to his country. To be a developed country, our immigration system is really 3rd world caliber!!!!!

Sorry for the rant, but is anyone else having issues wtih NVC?

This has been going on for many months now. Try to have patience and work on the things YOU can control. While you are waiting make sure all your docs are in order, read up on the recent changes in the NVC process, etc. I understand the anger and frustration, and ranting feels good...so after the rant, try to turn that energy into something positive because, in all reality, the process is NOT going to drastically change soon.

All I'm trying to say is save your energy, do the best you can with what you can control yourself, and most of all...Good Luck on your journey!! We are all going through this, and we will all get through it! :)

So I learned that case numbers and visas are treated like currency. . They assign a number when it is "available".. yes, right.. They go by quota . So, I understand your pain and I am also waiting for an approval . Unfortunately, that is not something you and I have control over.Focus on other preparations and I pray everyone hears good news soon.

Hi

We had got approved on Sept 3rd and our case reached NVC on Oct 11 and they assigned case number on Oct 23rd. We also had to wait for IV to be invoiced for more than a month. I have seen other posts in VJ and Facebook, it is taking quite a long time for NVC to assign case number these days.

But as others said, we cannot do much about it. Just prepare for the next steps.

Good luck
