Please weigh in - have we been approved?

I just checked the USCIS website on a whim and it says “My Case Was Approved” in the title. Underneath: “On November 5, 2014, we approved your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number xxxx. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your approval notice by December 5, 2014, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.”

There is adrenaline coursing through my veins as I write this message. Before I hyperventilate, I want to be sure that I am correct. I got e-confirmation that they accepted our I-129F 10/23. Have we been approved? Is that the message someone else that has already been through the process has received? (If so, PLEASE know that I feel for everyone else who is stuck in the mire of USCIS processing and this is in no way meant to “rub it in”. I hope and pray that everyone’s application gets through this complicated process.)

OR, is this somehow just an initial approval that they’re considering our I-129F and we still have months to go before the next step. (If so, please don’t laugh!)

Thoughts?

P.S. I hope this is the appropriate place to post this question. If not, please let me know.

Yes, I just updated it. I thought that filing at the Dallas Lockbox meant that my place was in Texas. It turns out that my NOA1 reports that I file in California, and I just updated my timeline to reflect that. Now if only I could figure out how to edit my original post..

Yes, that's your I-129F approval (NOA2). Time to move on to the next stage of the process :) Consult the VJ guides if you need help. And I think you can only edit a post once, which it looks like you already did for that first one.

Got the paper version today and updated the timeline today.

...Ok, NEXT STEPS here we come.

Ha. The online version said to check this paper for next steps, and I have yet to discover them. I must increase my USCIS literacy. Thank goodness for visajourney.

  • 4 weeks later...

Did you receive notice on the USCIS case status website that said "case was received"? If so, how much time passed between that notice and your current notice that the case was received? Congratulations!!
