Hey I'm not sure if anyone else has my issue, but my husband's interview won't be in our country of residence (Namibia) but rather in neighboring South Africa.

My question is, does my husband have to travel to South Africa to get his medical?? Anyone else able to get their medical in their country of residence rather then their country of interview?

How far in advance does he have to have his medical done? Because he can't afford to fly back and forth, so is a week between the medical and the interview enough time or what?

Amanda,

When I called to schedule the medical for my husband the office wanted at least 2 weeks from the date of the medical to the date of his interview. I think this is to get all the results and send it to the Embassy.

I think if you explain that you are coming from Namibia they will work something out.

Also you have to have your Police Clearance Certificate before you can book your medical. As you have to bring a copy of it to your medical.

Ok thanks. His police clearance certificate is from Namibia and will be sent to NVC. We'll keep a copy, but they need the original.
