My favorite is swirl bread cinnamon from Pepperidge Farm. I also like double chocolate Milano cookies. Oh I forgot to mention that I am really crazy of potatoes bread. I never had one before in my country.

I love that cinnamon bread too!!! and I even toast it and put Nutella on top it's soooo good.

But I agree with the post! I'm from Spain and we have bakeries in every corner, fresh bread every morning and afternoon, and I can't find anything similar here, and lots of people from Europe I know have coment it to me. I was looking for recipes lately and I will try to make my own. Maybe I will end buying and bread maker.

Also same issue with croissants I would eat them every morning back in my country here are not the same :(

My husband loves homemade bread, :content: . The problem is, I never have baked before, :P . We just bought those kind at grocery store. In my country, there is company called BreadTalk makes homemade bread. Fresh from oven with many varieties, :jest: .

Yup, I toasted the cinnamon bread as well and put butter on the top. I also love to make French toast, something that I've learned after came to the US, :lol: . Though I am not crazy about most of American fast food but my weakness are bread, cookies, and pastry.

I'm a big fan of bread and I grew up in a family (both sides) that love bread. It's a must have every morning as breakfast. My country has tons of delicious bread (you just have to open eyes and ears to find out where to buy it). And my Mama baked delicious homemade bread. When I moved here I'm not worried cuz I knew that bread here are also as delicious as what I have back in my country.

I find it really hard to find bread that I like here. In my country bread is eaten with every meal and I'm still trying to break that habit. Bread here is either too sweet or too sour for me or I just haven't had luck with finding the right type yet.

How I deal with it? I bake my own bread! :)

Get a bread maker... no baking skills involved. As long as you can measure ingredients and start the machine you're set for success! And hubby will be impressed.

I think the bread in the US tastes very sweet. My Fiance thinks Canadian bread tastes salty... Now, I haven't gone to an American bakery and bought good bread, so that could be the winner for me.

Fully agree with the make your own if you have patience and/or space for a breadmaker. Home made is pretty much always better, no matter where you're from!

I've been getting potato bread more lately, if I have to buy at the grocery. The white bread is just gross to me, it's too processed. I'm from the US but I never liked bread, here; it tastes like cardboard half the time. No flavor and the texture of a fluffy sponge.

If I want good hearty bread, I typically order from this place. They deliver too, if you're close enough in the area. I usually get my milk, cheese, eggs, bread and any grass fed/freerange meat I can afford.

Being a German native I have to say we have some of the best bread.

Growing up we ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hard crust on the outside and soft on the inside.

About a year ago I jumped on the gluten free wagon and just felt better and lost weight.

If I eat bread I feel bloated so had to give it up.

Good books on the subject are Wheat Belly and Grain Brain, a wealth of knowledge on why all bread sucks. -_-

We have a sunbeam bread maker that cost about $60 dollars on amazon. You can set it to bake overnight on a timer so you wake up to fresh bread smell!!

If there was an easy way to make cheese at home I'd be all over it haha.

Husband hates American bread. Misses his Brennan's Irish white bread. He'd squeeze the bread packages and sniff them for freshness in Irish shops. Brennan's bread is one of the many things he buys with the few big purchases he makes from foodireland.com every year. Fresh white Italian-style bread from the grocery store bakery is tolerable to him, but it goes rock-hard in a day if you don't eat it all.
