Hey folks

I am finally been granted the visa after 3 refusals of 221g..So I want to know how much time one gets to travel to US?? I know it's some 6 months but the period starts from the date of medical examination or from the date of issuance of visa??

I need to know this as I cannot go to collect the passport n visa this week so I won't be able to see the validity of the visa on my passport until I go but I thought of booking the flight so wanted to have an fair idea of the validity of the visa?

Thanks

Yeah usually it is 6 months from medical. If your medical is about to expire or will soon, you may need to travel fast. I've seen visa re-issues approved in such cases, but that would mean the expense of another medical and possibly other fees.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
