@ kels have u been able to track ur case online? ..my wife got the NoA 1 mailed to her thru standard mail yesterday but I can't check the case status ..

Yes, I can track online. I don't plan on receiving the hardcopy NOA1 since South African post office is striking but apparently it just restates what is in that e-mail.

When they switched to the new interface on the USCIS website it was showing the wrong date that they had received my case but now it is all back to normal and functioning correctly (for my individual case). I know a lot of others have been sharing their frustrations and that their case won't show so I'm hoping they have it up and running soon. Today (Tuesday) is veterans day so the office will be closed. Hopefully by end of week!

My husband and I are living in Honduras...praying everything goes smoothly and we can move to the States next year! We've been married a year and a half, have a baby girl and would love for him to meet the rest of my friends and family...only a handful were able to come down for the wedding.

Will pray for a smooth and quick transition for your family! I know it is tough to have family and friends unable witness your special day.

What does it say? because It used to show me dates and all now it's all pretty and say "My case was received" "and sent you the receipt notice.. please follow the instruction on the notice".. Like what instruction? I thought it was just a "we got your file" notice..

Also for to mention another stupid question does the Service Center actually approve the application or when I sent it to the Chicago Lockbox and the email I got stated it was approved and forwarded to the Texas Service Center.

It gets a little confusing sorry

It is very confusing. I had to do a LOT of research to understand the whole process. The first email you received, NOA1, just informs you that the Chicago Lockbox received it and where they are forwarding it. It also gives you the case number so you can track with the USCIS website. The Texas service center with USCIS will approve it which can take months. Use the tracking tools to get a better idea. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

Also check out : http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

And what happens after the NOA2 when it is routed to NVC if you want to prepare ahead : http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Hope this will provide you with some clarity.

Yes, I don't think there are any instructions for us at this point. Just waiting to see if we get NOA2 or an RFE.

Mine is the same " On November 3, 2014, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by December 3, 2014, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Look forward to cheering you on throughout the process. Hope it arrives safe and sound. A lot of us are US citizens living abroad so we should be on the same time frame!

Kels2497 we have the same exact dates !

Thanks Kels! I'm actually am the benefitionary, but I should have/could have been a USC long time ago but did this stupid misstake of not checking what a permanent resident can do before leaving for Sweden. Doh. So 13 years since the last time, here we are filling in papers. Again. LoL. With plenty SMH moments. USA feels more like my home than here so it's tough on me this journey. I just want to go home, away from my birth home.

Yeah, second time around, a sucker for punishment it feels like at this point! Just plain stupidity and ignorance on our part. Last time we had an attorney and did it in the USA. It was much easier to get hubby to Sweden, haha. Good luck and thanks for your empathy. :)

Im living in the US but my husband is Canadian and works and lives in Canada. i guess we face longer time to process or approve since im not abroad. not sure why that makes a difference except that maybe they think you should get preference to come home to pay taxes sooner?...lol. i need him here as much as anyone wants their spouse in the US living under one roof as a family. But i feel for those who only rarely get to see their spouse...i wish everyone the best. :)
