K1 Same-Sex Visa... Anxious about visa interview

Hi everyone!

I am very anxious about my upcoming visa interview on November 3.

Specific concerns:

1. I got denied of a visitor visa twice this year of which my fiancé would have sponsored. In the visitor visa application, he was referred to as "friend." We were not engaged that time yet but were already boyfriends. He wanted our first meeting to be in the US and check if we could get along and if things would progress to the next level. Because I was denied twice, he decided to come to the Philippines and meet me instead. He was anxious about flying since it would be his first time out of the continent. We met in March this year and in that same meeting he proposed. He stayed here for two weeks with me.

2. We only met in person once this year. We met online in November 2013, became boyfriends in Dec 5, 2013. Met in person and got engaged in March 2014.

3. Both of our families do not approve of our relationship. We both came from religious family where parents are in leadership roles.

Would these concerns affect the decision of granting me the K1 Visa?

Hope to hear from you guys...

Kind regards,

Henry

Hi Henry, don't be anxious nor worry, that will not make help anyway. We almost have the same story, I was denied also years ago for tourist visa (US) but this doesn't affect AT ALL and I was granted K1 visa last May and I'm happily married with my husband now here in USA.

What they really focus on K1 visa is about the sincerity of the relationship and be able to get marry within 90 days upon arrival and also the income of your partner.

Since not all state perform same sex marriage, you should be able to layout a plan where you gonna get married (just in case your partner reside in non same sex marriage state).

Just enjoy and make the most of your stay in the Philippines.

Best of luck and Congrats in advance!
