I like being manipulated with rhetoric. "Czar" sure sounds powerful, after all it means absolute dictator. But that is trivially untrue. Therefore, what is the real position of this man and what authorities will he actually have, other than reporting to the three people in the chain of command above: the two mentioned, and the president himself. In reality we must put the chief of staff in there too.

Don't we already have a Center for Disease Control? So, what is it doing? Doesn't this kind of admit they aren't up to the task? What is his relation to them? It sounds so ridiculously superficial.

Public health is generally a state-level concern so this guy can't just hijack all the state health care apparatus'. I think Obama is all about perception management. He's choosing words carefully there with Czar for maximum electoral manipulation. These so-called "Swat teams"... these are new positions I gather. You can't just "poof" them into existence. It's another example where the executive branch is phrasing things in the militaristic totalitarian terms. It means special weapons and tactics. That isn't what health care people do.

Why can't we name them what they actually are instead? Are we a bunch of children? I guess.

Hey: Solyndra did exactly what it was supposed to do: pay off the preznit's lefty-cronies and give the appearance of caring about the environment. Job done (at public expense).

Post reporters, for instance, "found that $3.9 billion in federal grants and financing flowed to 21 companies backed by firms with connections to five Obama administration staffers and advisers."

Named in the story is Sanjay Wagle, "venture capitalist" and "Obama fundraiser" who joined the Energy Department, which "provided $2.4 billion in public funding to clean-energy companies in which Wagle's former firm, Vantage Point Venture Partners, had invested."

And there's Steven Spinner, a "bundler of Obama campaign contributions who," we noted last fall, became an adviser at the Energy Department where he "pushed hard" for the Solyndra loan. Spinner is also married to a partner in the law firm that represented Solyndra.

Going deeper, we find Steve Westly, identified by the Post as "an Obama fundraising bundler" who "served part time" on an Energy Department advisory board and "communicated with senior White House officials."

The Post reported that Westly's firm "fared well in the agency's distribution of loans and grants. Its portfolio companies received $600 million in funding."

Also appearing in emails examined by the Post was David Prend, another venture capital investor with "White House access." Prend's company, Rockport Capital Partners, has been an investor in "several firms" that raked $550 million in federal money. Prend is linked, as well, to Ener1, the bankrupt electric-car battery company given a $118 million government grant.

The pattern is clear. Bundle campaign cash for Obama, and get taxpayer dollars to be frittered away on trendy green projects that have no economic reason for being.

First Solar of Arizona- received $3 billion from the federal government; 2,100 jobs lost.

Babcock & Brown- received $178 million from the federal government; an estimated 1,000 jobs lost; this is an Australian equity investment company involved in US energy projects.

Ener1 of New York- received $118 million from the federal government; 600 jobs lost; manufacturer of electric car batteries.

Amonix of Nevada- received $5.9 million from the federal government; 200 jobs lost.

Fisker Automotive- received $339 million from the federal government to build electric cars…IN FINLAND!

Abound Solar of Colorado- received $400 million from the federal government; 125 jobs lost.

Obamas New Ebola Czar Does Not Have Medical, Health Care Background

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) President Barack Obama on Friday turned to a trusted adviser to lead the nations Ebola response as efforts to clamp down on any possible route of infection from three Texas cases expanded, reaching a cruise ship at sea and multiple airline flights.

Facing renewed criticism of his handling of the Ebola risk, Obama will make Ron Klain, a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, his point man on fighting Ebola at home and in West Africa. Klain will report to national security adviser Susan Rice and to homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco, the White House said.

Klain does not have a medical or a health care background.

Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., slammed the decision on Twitter.

Worst ebola epidemic in world history and Pres. Obama puts a government bureaucrat with no healthcare experience in charge. Is he serious? Harris tweeted.

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., praised Obamas decision.

Ive known Ron Klain for over twenty years. He is smart, aggressive, and levelheaded; exactly the qualities we need in a czar to steer our response to Ebola. He is an excellent choice, Schumer told CBS News in a statement.
