question, my fiancé filled out his DS160 before completing his medical because he is missing a document. will that mess things up? Our status has not updated yet since him submitting his DS160

No filing the DS160 prior to medical doesn't change anything. It can be filled anytime.

Same with the medical. It can be done at any time after you the case number.

The form of readiness is the only form that needs to be filled after ALL paperwork is obtained but that doesn't mean you can't file it before the medical, as long as you know the medical date.

The medical requires it's own set of required documents.

You have to have the police certificate(s) in order for the medical to be scheduled.

Which, also means, you can't file the form of readiness until your medical has been scheduled.

Hope that makes sense.

Go over the instructions again on the London website. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

(Hint--use a computer, not phone)

Step One

Step Two

Step Three

Step Four....it's all laid out for you and has been pointed out to you before.

How can doing Step One before Step Three mess things up?

Read another version of the steps for London here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/?p=6741238. You have been pointed to that before also, but this is do-it-yourself and so you have to read it and learn it.

The medical people do not review documents other than a photo ID to make sure it's him and his police certificate to check for drug/alcohol related offenses. And if he takes a shot record, they will record what immunizations he has had in the past for the official record.

yes I knew about the readiness form. I thought for London you only needed your UK certificate. I understood that for the interview you needed all police certificates as applicable aside from the London one.

got it. At any rate he filled out his DS160 . At least I feel some sense of production since we can't do anything else until that dumb certificate is requested and received. he will request it next week when he is off. see, if he didn't work and sat on his but all day things could get done faster lol.

Even if London only requires the UK certificate, it's irrelevant to the medical. The medical requires ALL certificates.

You can't obtain an interview until you complete the medical.

Go with the information Nick provided you. You have completed step 1 by filling the DS160.

Now, get all your paperwork together, including ALL the certificates, then schedule your medical and file your Form of Readiness.

Ohhh NICK!

I got a question for ya..

We have our interview date and we already received the letter. (We're just waiting for the day...)

Out of kicks and giggle I checked the CEAC tracker and it shows that our case was last updated today.

I was just wondering why our case would be "updated" or "touched" now?

My personal opinion is everybody is just guessing why a date changes. Every time somebody is sure of a pattern, the next person has something different happen. I don't have a guess.

You have an interview. Stop checking status. Go pack.

(Hahaha, I say that because my fiancé procrastinated until the last weekend then fell off a bike and broke bones. He was in a sling and packing the massive amount of stuff he was bringing just one-handed wasn't going so well. So I had to go catch a flight that afternoon to arrive Saturday morning and help. Oops...I got on a soapbox. Getting off now since I am the worst procrastinator alive. Cheers!)
