DS-160 question: application receipt/petition number?

Hi - I had a quick question about a field in DS-160 form that I am filling out. It asks for "Application Receipt/Petition Number", and says it is the number given to me by USCIS. I'm guessing this is the service centre reference number (SRC......in my case, from Texas Service Centre), and NOT the LND number given by the NVC. Am I correct?

I looked in the example form and that has a strange looking number which is not from NVC nor from TSC/CSC, so I wasn't sure what to make of it.

Thanks

after your petition is approved it gets sent to NVC. Then NVC will mail you both numbers. Its good to call nvc 2 to 3 weeks after they receive your approved petition to get both numbers it helps speed the process for you

But it says the number provided by USCIS, specifically. The LND number was generated by the NVC, no?

I have the NVC number already, thanks (the one which starts with LND...)

Hi , I just read your post here because I do have the exact same question about that number on the DS-160 form. Have you found out which one is correct ? the number given by USCIS ( SRC... ) or the NVC number ?

Again, we used the LND#. It was successful.

The embassy can track your file with either number.

We used the LND # whereas some have used the receipt number. Neither of us have had any issues with the DS160.
