Hi we have just completed the online DS 260 and now need to send our supporting documents. My husband is in Latvia and I am the US citizen. I have his original birth certificate and our original marriage license from Latvia but am scared to send those for fear they will be lost. Do I have to submit his originals and will I get them back? I sent copies in our I-130 filing so was hoping I could do the same but not sure.

Thank you in advance for any information!

Make two copies one you keep and the other copy goes with the originals to NVC. You will get the originals back at interview.

Any documents sent to USCIS is there's you have to send originals or certified copies of originals to NVC.

Good ideas thanks for the replies I will have my husband get certified copies for our files and send the originals so I do not have to wait for him to send more documents and delay our filing!

Thanks
