Yes, there are a lot successful stories here. Just use search with keywords "same sex couple".

Definitely many success stories for same sex couples.... :-) Don't feel bad for over stressing or freaking out, it is normal ;-) Just make sure to organize yourself well, provide all the necessary supporting documents you need to file along with your petition and check the guidelines for K1 and samples other people have file and how they filed their petition. You will be okay, believe me :-)

Good luck to the both of you!

Same-sex couple (both females) right here! We've finished the process & got approved. My fiancée will be here in a month

The only thing that was different about our process was that as a same-sex couple when you are filing the i-129f you have to show the intent to marry and in what state you will marry in. This is just my opinion but there are some states where marriage equality is maybe there, or there for a few days and then gone..... I would stick to a state where it has been law for a good amount of time and hasn't changed.

Best of luck to you girls & let us know if you have any more questions!

For those on the east coast, New York has had same-sex marriages legal since 2011, and Niagara Falls has fantastic & affordable wedding packages available!

Good Luck!

My only advise would be (because being in a same sex relationship shouldnt matter either way) is to include the legal right to marry in the state you plan on marrying.

You never know, you might get an idiot who dosn't know what states allow and what dont.

So with the petition include the state you are marrying and the bill that shows the right to marry in that state.

You should be fine, do not think you will be denied for being in a same sex relationship.

Same sex couple here as well. Both female. :)

We just go married and just filed my AOS for my permanent residency. My wife is the US citizen. We married here in California.

Quick advice, don't forget to include which state you guys are going to get married and if that state allows same sex marriage. We have compiled clippings of news and the law that states it is legal to marry in California. I have noticed some same sex couples weren't able to do that but got approved anyway. But you know what they say, better to be over prepared than under prepared. :)

My partner and i are willing to help incase you have questions.

Good luck!!! :dancing:

Hi I am in the process right now. I have been with my partner for 28 years and when DOMA was overturned we decided to go for the visa, we have been waiting a year in initial review with no sign of an acceptance, I have no idea if this is because we are a same sex couple but I am not a success story, I am so sad that it is taking so long as I am stuck in the UK and just want to be with my partner. I hope things are easier for you.

Good Luck

If I were you I would call USCIS to see if they have an update on your case. I see you have the VSC as your center and right now the VSC does not work on K1 visas... also a year in initial review is way too long! Maybe they lost your case? I really hope there is just some error and you'll be with your partner soon!

They are all right. Just don't forget to indicate in your letter of intent to marry the state where you will get married and make sure it is a legal state :)

Same sex couple here (both girls). I'm from the Philippines and My fiance is from florida which is a non-legal state so we plan to get married in New York :)

We got approved last month and i'll be flying to florida next year, January 2015 :)

The only thing that was different about our process was that as a same-sex couple when you are filing the i-129f you have to show the intent to marry and in what state you will marry in. Not just your opinion though, this is true. There are many states that do not recognize same sex marriage. I would highly recommend checking which state your finacee is living in and check with the law there.

Here is a list of states that recognize same-sex marriage
