I have a friend who is from Tajikistan . Her parents live in israel , They are of the Behai faith. She flew to Jordan for a few days and wanted to visit her parents. Israel would not let her depart the plane. The reason was she had entered Jordan . This is the way they controled terrorist threats at the time. Perhaps still do.

Anyone that has visited a high risk ebola country we should do the same. Quarantine americans that return from these countries until deemed safe. Refuse entry to non citizen travelers. until this has ended.

Well firstly, the bit in red isn't factual and I think it's safe to say that neither you nor anyone here knows anything about the doctor's politics to make such a claim. All you are doing there is making a blanket assumption that he must be a liberal because you don't agree with what he said.

The reason that the international community is helping in West Africa is because the countries affected don't have the resources, knowledge or infrastructure to handle the outbreak. What the doctor is saying that if the international community does not help (and let's not forget you were suggesting in the other thread that you are against troops being sent over there because you think they'll come back with the disease), the outbreak will be worse, more lives will be lost, and yes - that could lead to instability in the country.

This is exactly why you can't close borders. Doctors and qualified aides need to be over there treating and ensuring the right information is being circulated, and that the general population is physically handling victims and disposing of the dead appropriately.
