Precisely. The same nonsensical discourse against marriage was brought about in the wake of Loving v. Virginia. It seems the good people of our country seemed to believe marriage was only between people of the same color... They were wrong then and they are on the wrong side of history now. Intriguingly so, they keep coming to America only to get here and express their dislike for our country. Go figure!

It's a strange concept of freedom indeed when lifting a ban on marriage for same sex couples is somehow taking away freedom. I suppose when the ban on marriage for interracial couples was lifted half a century ago, that was a reduction in freedom as well. Only in right wing nut job la-la-land...

Yes, death threats will be investigated if reported.

If by "investigated", you mean the police listening politely to your story, then telling you there is nothing they can do until a violent act against you has actually been committed, then yeah, I reckon you are korek.

Gay marriage about adding freedom? It's more about force feeding a one way concept to a world and people who are unwilling to accept it the way its been packaged. Some people are on the fence, others are fully on board, and still others could care less. Thomas Jefferson said:

The people of one state or region may be all for it. The people of another state or region may not be. It could be for religious reasons, personal, political, or whatever. There is a haughty and putrid odor that emanates from the far left who behave as if they are enlightened, or in the know, or somehow have a better way. For now, the US is one of the most tolerant countries on earth regarding same sex relationships. When it comes to religious intolerance and gay relationships take a walk into the world of Islam. I can assure you they don't make cakes for gay couples in that society.

You have yet to provide a rational reason against same sex couples marrying. The only reason I have ever heard put forward is that sex with someone of the same sex is a sin and therefore those who 'choose to follow this lifestyle' should be prevented from enjoying the benefits of marriage because allowing 'these people' to call their union marriage is an affront to those who do follow religious credo. That's not a rational argument. Care to provide any reason at all that isn't based on a specific right wing religious view on gay sex?

The discussion over marriage has been going on for years. The arguments today remain the same from back when Prop. 8 was made it to the ballot. Years later and no one can come up with a rational reason. In fact, the arguments against marriage remain very much the same as they were in the wake of Loving v. Virginia, which indicates they are fueled by ignorance and bigotry alone.
