Anybody worried about how this whole ebola scare is going to affect travel and visa processing? I know it hasn't affected sub-saharan Africa as much, but I'm still a bit nervous about the possible affects on the visa process. Anyone have some input?

11/14/17 I-751 Package mailed (Vermont)

5/11/15 NOA2 (8:30 pm text, 238 days since NOA1)

6/09/15 Consulate Received (had to call embassy to check)
6/12/15 Packet Received
6/18/15 Packet Completed (had to call/visit embassy to schedule interview)
7/09/15 Interview Completed- APPROVED!! (after delay for US system errors, and rescheduling/postponing 3 times)

7/16/15 Visa In Hand (told to "come back tomorrow" first two times they said it would be ready)

7/18/15 POE Washington, D.C.

8/13/15 Filed for AOJ (also EAD and Travel)

8/20/15 NOA1 for all 3 filings

9/08/15 Bio Appt

9/26/15 Wedding Ceremony!

11/23/15 AOS Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no interview, no warning- completely unexpected, but so exciting)

Not sure what you mean by 'it has not affected sub-sahara Africa as much'. All affected countries are sub-saharan.

I would say it will get worse before it will get better. Everyone should have second thoughts about traveling into the

affected areas.

Renewal EAD in production notification text and online, expedite successful 4 days after RFE request response was faxed, Aug25mailed,Aug29received.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

I don't see how it will actually affect visa processing for you if you are not in those specific countries (as stated in the link posted by Ebunoluwa). The only way traveling is affected right now is at airports where they use thermal scanners to see if you have a fever. I would assume that would just slow down going through security (not actually sure where the scanners are located). And if you have a fever, it will of course delay you boarding the plane.

CDC was making the suggestion just this morning mandatory 21 day quarantine before travel coming for Anyone with a Visa ready to travel. I see the medical being a whole new thing now. Like getting it a week before you have interview.

After this numb-nuts who is here in Dallas lied now he has just messed it up for everyone and made everyone in Africa suspect. It doesn't have to become an epidemic in the US.With enough people run for the hills. People pulling their kids out of schools (its like that in Dallas). It will most def get worst before better.

Now a photographer that was on the plane with that infected man they say is in hospital now.

Oh wow, 21 days?! I wonder how they are going to implement that?

Isn't it just always like that, one or two people making it difficult for everyone else. I guess this was bound to happen at some point.

Very worried. This process has been so insanely long and arduous and now having to contend with possible travel ban and visa restrictions is making me overly stressed. We are applying for a visa from Sierra Leone. My husband and I are tracking the news daily, but a situation like this, things are so unpredictable. I don't mind the quarantine as long as they don't stop issuing visas.

We are relying heavily on God's grace to see us through this process. We just got our approval from USCIS on Sept 18 and our case was forwarded to NVC on October 15.

I am very worried as well. We know that we still have another few months to go (at NVC since June). I just saw today that Canada and Australia are restricting visas for those from Ebola-stricken countries. So freaked out.

So sorry this is happening, I have been to Sierra Leone and still have friends there and pray they will remain safe.

I get updates daily and the conditions are horrible there.
