DCF, six month requirement details?

Hello,

I am a US citizen. My fiancé (Hungarian citizen) and I plan to get married in Hungary soon, and use DCF to move back to the US. We moved here to Hungary on 9/11/2014, and I am just now starting the application for a 1 year residency permit on 10/2/2014.

My question is, does the six month residency requirement start from the date I moved here (9/11) or the date that the official residency permit starts? I can hopefully prove that I arrived here on 9/11 using airline tickets and other receipts, so that we can start the DCF process sooner.

Thank you Confusedtinybird. I will verify that, just in case the USCIS website isn't up to date. Do you have a suggestion as an alternative to DCF? We were looking into getting a spouse visa. Thanks!

You can file the I-130 from Hungary. List your address there and included information that you live there and letters addressed to you. (rent, bills or bank statements addressed to you in Hungary. You can included a cover lever that you are living overseas and filling a I-130 and want to move to the U.S.A.
