Hi all,

I am a new joiner & I would like to ask a couple of questions .

I am maried to LPR ,& we filed for 130 F2A , 12-sept-2014 is our PD .

We are from Egypt, I got the receipt & when I checked USISD website , I entered the receipt number & I got initial review , I checked the proccessing time for California service center for spouse , it was 5 month .

Now I do not understand what's the use for the processing time if I have to wait for my PD to be current, is there any way to speed things up as my husband is Chrisitan & I am not & in Egypt they do not allow nor recognize civil marriage, & it might be dangerous for me if anyone found out. That's why we got married in Cyprus.

Bases on the average number of previously processed cases , how long do you think it's gonna take for my PD to be current, I know you can never know for fact how long it's gonna take but just an estimate, a year , 6 month , 2 years.

Please let me know if you need to know anything else , thanks & I really appreciate your help guys.

As the spouse of an LPR you have to wait your turn which currently is processing Feb 2013 petitions. If you rspouse becomes a USC they can change the class and ask for an expediate.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Is your husband planning to become a US citizen or has he filed for citizenship yet? Boy I wonder if you can expedite anyway? Your in a very bad situation and I wish you would have thought this a little more, I'm just so afraid for you. Just in case this is the e-mail to expedite don't know it if will help don't really think so but why not try and you can ask them under the circumstances what can you do in your situation. God be with you and protect you, I'll be praying for you. NVCExpedite@state.gov .

Anyone know any other agency she or her husband can contact? (F)(L)(F)

Thanks Bust for your reply , the lawyer said that last year it was approved in less than a year so I had hope, I know it wont be pleasant especially in my case , god help me & all the people like me.

My husband cant apply for citizenship because he is a religious asylee and he just got his green card last June .

Hi Soloenta;

You are so kind , my husband is Egyptian as well & he was a religious asylee in the US , he got his green card recently & then we traveled abroad to get married .

Then applied for I130 , he can not apply for citizenship for another 4 years, I know you think it was reckless , but we did not plan for it , we were best friends then we fell in love , we could not get married in Egypt & he traveled to the states in 2012 & I was able to c him in 2014 last September after he got his green card and we were able to travel .

God bless you for your wishes & thoughtful words, I will really need your prayers & thank you for the email , I will send them , who knows & I will let you know what was their reply :) :) :)

Then shouldn't you be able to get a religious asylee since you are a Muslim married to a Christian man? I would look into this your life is in danger specially if your from a smaller city. Are you in Cairo or Alexandria, I think Aswan would be considered big also?

I will post it now, just wanted to reply to you first , I can not apply for asylum as I am not in the USA , I have to be there so I can apply for it , I live in Cairo the capital ,

Danger can come from ordinary people or your family,- it depends on them , changing religion here- from Islam to Christianity or Judaism (the only religions they acknowledge ) is really difficult & dangerous & impossible, & its banned by law the civil marriage , we did not know what to do .

I am sorry to burden your with my story .

Hi, So sorry to hear about your case especially the danger you are likely to face from your home country. I also got married to a LPR in July 2014 and we have applied. I have a priority date of August 2014. California processing office also says it is going to take 5 months. I and my husband were confused when we read this because we knew that the priority date for F2A (our category) is February 2013 now. But I think that 5 months meant the time it would take for them to process our application and send it to the National Visa Center (NVC). At the National Visa Center, we wait till out priority date becomes available and then I can qualify to apply for a visa. By the way I am Nigerian and my husband just got his green card 2 years ago. I am also eager to check the November visa bulletin or know how long it would take before it gets to my turn.

God be with us and increase our patience. Nice meeting you on this platform.

If your husband got his green card through marriage to a USC he isn't even eligible to file an I130 under the who may not use this form in the instructions.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
