I ignore the stuff that says owning a gun makes one more likely to be a killer, or to cause bad things to happen, because it simply isn't true for everyone.

You ignore the questions and counter with demeaning comments on a regular basis, because you can't seem to answer any other way. We are who we are. I haven't killed anyone, and neither have you. Seems we arrived at the same place in life, even though one of us owns guns and one refuses to answer.

If you stopped being such an absolutist on this issue then it would be easier to have a conversation about it.

Of course it isn't true for everyone, that's a given. Why would you think otherwise?

What this article shows is that there are identifiable trends that have been identified based on an analysis of statistical data. The data is open to interpretation and like all statistical data there may be limitations in the methodology used to collect it (which good researchers will admit up front).

My belief is that more guns in general circulation makes society less safe - the above is my rationale as to why. Noone is forcing you to agree with that, least of all me. I'm not sure I get why you're spitting the dummy over this...

Well, you keep bringing it up, as if your opinion is going to sway the US consensus on the issue. You can say all you want that less guns would make it safer, but we will likely never know in our lifetime, will we? It works for other nations. It can't work for the US at this time because there are too many weapons on the free market.

If you don't expect folks to agree with you, why do you keep bringing it up, over and over, with the same results?

Why do you and your cronies keep bringing up race?

Nice attempt at deflection. As usual. But while I happen to think Marvin is a pretty all-right guy, he is not my "crony", and I have TRIED several times to get him to lay off the race issue. It will take time to help him overcome it, but I am a patient man...
