I know the uscis site says 5.5 months but I see some April and March filers are getting approved. It's just so unfair!!!!! It pisses me off don't get me wrong I'm happy for them but it's hard to wait!!

Anyway my question is does anybody here ever call their congressman?? How did it go? I called my senator office they ask me to release a privacy form. Any suggestions

You can try. There are many people here successful with calling them. The main thing you have prepared when they asked you what the reason you need some help. Good luck and I am sorry to hear you have waited so long.

I called my congressman's office and they were willing to help the same day, but, first thing she asked was if I was past the normal processing time.

If you haven't heard anything by Sept 28, you should be able to get congressional help. Before that, it's still within normal processing times for Texas.

Yours will come soon. It seems like they are working on early march applications.

Our senator has been nothing but helpful, we contacted at just over 5 months, and his assistant got our case with an officer within a week.

We're now however at 6 1/2 months because of pending security checks - not much more a senator can do. So don't feel down, there are many others in the same position! Lots of cases around my receipt number have RFE's still, 6 of us haven't heard anything and we're late jan/early feb filers!

12.31.2013 - Got engaged!

01.27.2014 - I-129f sent

01.31.2014 - I-129f received

02.04.2014 - NOA1

04.09.2014 - Alien Reg changed

07.10.2014 - Contacted Senator

07.18.2014 - Case with an officer, security checks begin!

08.08.2014 - Update on case, processing hold w/security checks :-(

09.09.2014 - Update on case, SECURITY CHECKS COMPLETE!! case routed to an officer again.

09.12.2014 - NOA2 (221 DAYS FROM NOA1- Shocking USCIS!)

09.17.2014 - Case sent to NVC

09.25.2014 - Case arrived at NVC

09.26.2014 - Case forwarded to London embassy

10.06.2014 - Case arrived at London embassy, status "Ready"

Not to discourage you, but we just started our seventh month. Its not worth being stressed out so early. Take the advise all give here about contacting senators and all, but don't raise your hopes that it will get you an answer/NOA2. I do wish that you do, but for your sanity I would advise you to keep no expectations after contacting them.

Wish you the best!

I just want to say to everyone waiting out this Texas 129F nightmare...Im really sorry for you guys. This is not complex paperwork and it should never take this long.

However, I doubt its the fault of the people in Texas at the center....I dont know what the truth is, but I have a feeling someone higher up gave them other work to do and they were unable to ramp up their staff to deal with their normal work load.

Im not trying to be partisan at all, just in general our politicians often fail to look at all the consequences of their actions.....if you start a new program or law, it should not end up penalizing an innocent group of people.....

6 months is just way way too long for a 129F.....its not that complicated normally to evaluate a 129F.

An USC (with no problem history) should be able to get approval to ask for a visa for a fiancee (with no problem history) in a few weeks tops.

Part of the solution to illegal immigration would be to make legal immigration quicker and more user friendly.

If the pols want to make a new policy then they should set that up in such a way that there are not innocent casualties....

Best of luck to you all.....I do think its a good idea to contact your senators and congress people and make them aware of the problem.

I wouldn't call them, but I would go to the "How Can I Help You" sections on their websites, look under "immigration" and find the privacy waiver and the addresses to send the completed privacy waiver for each of them to (for both your senators AND for your congressman). I typed up a professional-sounding cover letter with all my case/personal info on it, described the situation and why I thought it was unfair, attached it to the privacy waivers and mailed ALL of them out the day before my case hit 5.5 months so that they would get it on the day it hit 5.5 months (even though the wait time had changed to 6 months the day before that). I received typed responses from each of them stating that they all inquired as to the status of my case on the 11th of August and on the 12th of August I received my NOA2. There's a chance this could be a coincidence, as many people inquire and don't receive approval for weeks or even months, but I have feeling it's not.

I feel you, the wait is definitely unfair and the immigration system is very flawed, but you'll get through it. I know it's hard to stay positive when you're so nervous about receiving approval. Keep in mind many of those being approved so quickly are either expedited cases (such as those where the beneficiary is from the Philippines) or their cases are at the California Service Center. There is a backlog at the Texas Service center for a number of reasons. One of them, of course, is political in nature. But it also has to do with the uneven spatial distribution of population and the geographic regions assigned to the service centers. From sheer population alone, Texas has a larger case load to deal with. It's ridiculous, but it's just the way it is.

You're not even at 5 months yet according to your timeline, so hang on a bit longer before contacting anyone. They won't be able to do anything for you if your case isn't beyond the average processing time. The good news is many of the April & May petitions have been transferred away from the TSC, so you may receive approval more quickly than those before you (many at 7 months and even I was at more than 5.5 months). You'll probably hear something very soon! Good luck! :)
