My mom who is a us permanent resident filed a I130 for me in December 2012 which was received on January 7th 2013 and now it's August 16th 2014 n it's still on initial review. And the processing time say 5 months. Help? It's the California processing center. Help?! :(

hi

how old are you, over 21 or under 21?

if you are over 21, it can take years for approval, since you have over 7 years of waiting

if you are under 21, then your mom should contact the center where they are processing the i130 to see what's going on

hi

she should call and ask for a tier 2 supervisor to see what's going on

about 2 weeks ago she called and they said it was denied and they sent out a notice a long time ago and wondering why she hasn't gotten it yet.. yesterday (September 15th) they updated the status on uscis from initial review to decision said, t said it was denied and they said they sent out a notice on why it was denied. yesterday (Sep 15th) i told my mom about the update and she said she got a letter yesterday also about it saying it was passed on to an immigration officer but she hasn't gotten any other letter. so idk what's going on. what u think?

It's possible that the initial letter got lost... but it seems odd that the status changed on the same day as the letter arrived, letters usually take at least a few days to get there. Is it possible your mom may have chosen not to tell you of the denial initially? Can you get her to scan the letter to see what exactly it says?

hi

why not, the i130 was approved and a copy was mailed to the old address, your mom should have changed her address with immigration. everything will be sent to the old address. It will take a while until they update the information online.

Post decision activity means the i130 was approved and it will be sent to the National Visa Center.

Have your mom change the address immediately and request that the letter be sent to the new address

But that's weird :/ .... I thought they said it was denied. Unless they took back their decision? Is it possible?
