They will send the beneficiary something in the mail. In the meantime, you can use this site https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ to check the status of your case. I recently emailed the embassy and they told me it is usually 120 days before you will get your interview. It could be less though. Paitence is a virtue.

Also, you can go ahead and fill out the DS-160 online (same link as above). Be aware that if the beneficiary does not fill out the form, then you can fill it out, but on the last page, you have to state that the beneficiary had help filling out the form and you will need to put your informtion (the person that helped fill out the form.)

Also, and most important, the beneficiary needs to be the one who presses the button or link to submit the application.

If this is not done, then your application becomes void. You can fill it out, but have the beneficiary fill out the last page and press the submit button. Afterwards, your beneficiary can print the confirmation page (this is what you need to present at the interview so keep it safe) OR have it emailed to a specific email address and then you can print it from your email at anytime.

Banco Popular fees, I believe you will need the appointment letter that the embassy sends you (mentioned above - "They will send the beneficiary something in the mail.") before you can pay the fees because you have to present the letter to them to pay the fees, so you will have to wait. The wait could range from a few weeks to a couple of months. After a month or a month and a half, if you have not received anything in the mail, then I would contact the emabssy to get an update. Sometimes mail could get lost in the DR maining system.

But once you pay the fees, you will need to keep the reciepts and present at the interview (you should have 2 receipts)

I filled out my husbands ds160 online and put myself as the preparer, and submitted it, and printed the application and confirmation page. His DS160 was not void, and was accepted at interview. We didn't have any problems with it. Our interview was in February.

The embassy just received the case this week. How can I find out the interview date so I can start preparing all paperwork.

Also when should I pay for the visa at Banco Popular?

If the consulate got the papers this week, justvwait one month and e-mail them asking for your interview date.

In the e-mail type as subjet the case number, and in the e-mail petitioner and beneficiary name and birth day , then ask your question.

They will answer you in 2 bussines days.

But wait one month to see if they have asigned an interview date.

One thing is sure , you will have your interview in 4 months.

Once you know your interview date, you need put atention, to the date.

If in one month before to the interview the beneficiary hasnt received the packet 4, ( intruction letter) the e-mail the consilate they will e-mail it, the beneficiary print it, and with that letter can pay at banco popular and do the medical exam.

Do the medical exam 14 bussines days before interview, dont count the weekend just bussines days.

To pay at banco popular you need the packet 4.

Now all you can do is relax and wait for one month.
