So, I just realized that there might be an issue with our petition - but I invite the participation of those who have gone before us, who maybe had the same problem, who can assuage or address the concerns.

This is my sponsor (read: petitioner) income reported (total income) for the last three years PRIOR to 2013.

2010: $ 90,000

2011: $ 140,000

2012: $ 110,000

In 2013, we were in different tax jurisdictions so did a MFS and made a somewhat uncomfortable 15,000.

I had a US tax return (MFS), that was MFS, that came to $ 22,000

In prior years, we filed jointly and the NVC accepted our extension for 2013 and let me submit my wife's 2013 return when I go to consulate.

She will have 7 months worth of paystubs proving a 2014 (starting Jan) income of $ 60,000.

What is mumbai like, when 2013 doesn't add up, but three years prior to that + current is good to go ?

Any suggestions ?

Have they (NVC) already approved your AOS w/o the 2013 return?

Here are my 2 cents. The consulate for sure will ask for 2013 - Tax Return, Tax Transcript, etc. If 2013 does not look good it would be a good idea to have a joint sponsor filling in a I-864 - JIC.

The NVC has approved and accepted our 2010-2012 returns.

JIC... hmm.. wouldnt my $ 22,000 made last year help at all ?
