hey vjers,

i wanted to ask if there was a disease spreading throughout the country would i be able to expedite my husbands case ? he's in AP and its been 7 months. My husband is in west africa in Togo and they think that the Ebola Virus has spread here but they dont know for sure. It is a serious disease and cant be cured the person infected dies within a couple of days ( external and internal bleeding and there is no vaccine in it. They keep on sending messages on the phone to be on the lookout and report anyone who has it.

Unless your husband can show that people in his neighborhood has been infected there is little hope of an expedite. Many places have serious infectious conditions in the area or racial/religious attacks are unless they are on your street an expedite is next to impossible . It is considered normal for people in 3rd world counties to deal with health issues

But wouldnt this be more like a serious issue different from other stories. I guess ill just have to wait and see if they grant him the visa soon or not :/

Yes they still dont know for sure. All they do is send messages and people talking about someone dying here from it. Ill wait and see what happens for sure.

Thus far only Liberia and Guinea have been confirmed to have Ebola victims. Sierra Leone and Ghana thought they may

have it also but it was confirmed that it was not Ebola.

If there are officially confirmed cases of Ebola in Togo you can try to expedite but I doubt it would be successful, worth a try though.

Putting a possible carrier on two or more plans all the way to the US is, at the very least, very irresponsible.

Regardless of that, you can't really do much about AP other than wait it out.

I missed the fact that he is on AP. I thought you were talking about expediting at USCIS and weren't approved yet.
My bad.
I correct my other comment and would say that being in AP there is zero chance for expedite at the embassy, not for Ebola or anything else

including Armageddon.

When you fix this, then come let's debate who knows Togo well. That penchant for negativity is not what the OP came here looking for.
