We had our marriage based AOS Interview this morning at 8:15am in Mt Laurel, NJ. It would probably be one of the quickest and most pleasant interview you'll ever read about. My husband and I came at the office at 8am. We took our 3 year old son with us. After about 15 minutes in the waiting area, we were called a very nice IO and lead us to his little office. We were sworn in before we took our seats. He asked for our I'd 's, birth and marriage certificates and passport. He then asked my husband (USC) his name, birthday, address, occupation, parents' names, ex wife, children's names, date of our marriage and who among his family were present at our wedding. He asked me the same questions. Then he asked me to mail a list of my older children's names and dates of birth. He handed me a pink envelope with the Mt Laurel office address. He asked for our 2013 tax returns. Then he asked me the standard questions which I answered no to all. He then explained the conditional green card while stamping the documents in front of him. He then excused himself and when he came back he asked if our son goes to school. Then we started talking about the movie Kindergarten Cop and the one that starred Vin Diesel. Then he told us that the form which will be sent to USCIS within 90 days before the expiration date of the GC will be sent in the mail. And he said I can apply for US citizenship after 3 years (or was it 2?). He stood up to lead us out. We thanked him for a very nice experience. He asked why is that? My husband said we expected worse. And we laughed while he lead us out. There was no mention of approval. I guess there was no need for it.

Thank you VJ community! We are glad this phase is over. The journey continues.

I guess they do things differently. I was expecting my passport stamped based on what I read. I saw him take the I-94 from my passport. He did emphasize on not forgetting to mail the ROC within that 90 day period. Lets see what's next on this journey. Im just glad there is someone I can compare notes to.

Yes the journey has now really just begun for us, he did the same with us about the 90 days & it will be nice to compare notes as well. :) Now to sort out my Driving Licence when I get my G/C

That's true. There are docs that need to be changed. The SS card and driver's permit both state temporary immigration status which can have effect on the job search.

Well I will be getting my SSN card sorted when my G/C comes, as for the driving licence I don't think that it will be to much of an hindrance.
