Hello all!

I've been getting to know you this week... reading through all the invaluable experiences and information you are sharing with each other.

You can't know how good it makes me feel starting this process that there are people helping people with concise, informed, and comprehensive support! Such a comfort.

I am the petitioner, and my fiancee Danny (A Scouser from Liverpool, UK) will be the beneficiary. We met in 2010 and fell in love whilst I was living in Liverpool on post-study and study visas... I recently moved back home to Houston, TX and we've been visiting back and forth... and we just got engaged on my recent visit this January. Danny can't wait to start his American Adventure and join me in my hometown of Houston, TX. My goal is to be filing our K1 initial application packet by the end of February.

Eventually, we will be using a joint sponsor when we get to the financial stage, as my income is just below the guidelines (unless i get promoted before then!) and Danny doesn't have any significant assets to show at the London Embassy. I'm going to have questions about joint sponsors I can tell you already.

I'll probably have lots of questions but will try to keep them to the point and appropriate.

I've noticed on here the torture we all put ourselves through if we think a lot when trying to fill out the various forms and navigate the process- I can see myself in your struggles already!

I am going to try my best to KeepItSimpleStupid but I am a worrier.

However, it's awesome that your search options on this web-site have already led me through to many of the initial concerns I had arising. You've already helped me.

I can promise I will need clarification and help along the way though!

Many Thanks to this community in advance, for being willing to help.

Hello and welcome. We live in Houston and have completed the entire journey. It doesn't have to be stressful. It is just a process you jump through, one hoop at a time, not knowing how long it will take you to get to the next hoop. Relax and let it unfold if you don't want to go insane. It will happen when it happens.

Once you get the petition filed and out of the way, start learning the next part...LONDON, so you will be informed of the process for that phase. Each consulate is different so learn the plan for yours in the UK FORUM http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/ Ask all those questions about the affidavit of support, interview, medical, etc there.

Bookmark it! and come visit after you have your petition sent off.
