My bills ran about $500 a month until i got a proper calling plan. That was between landline and cell phone. Gary's highest was 300 pounds and that was from cell phone.

About $88.00 for the first phone call from my home phone that lasted about 20 minutes.What a rip-off when there are so many other options available. Anyway I learned fast so now it's only about $40 per month for lots of minutes

When Claudeth first got here she ran up my landline to about $3000 in the first two months. I passed out when I received the first bill for over $2000 and there was more to come. I immediately shut the landline down to local calls only and bought her calling cards

Ouch! You've got me beat.... My first phone bill from calling my fiancee was almost $1,500. I've gotten it down to $300 to $400 a month now. I plan on buying her phone cards to call her family once she gets here, but for next Christmas, I'd like to buy them a computer with a webcam for VTC.

Same here for doing the same thing only I called Egypt instead of Canada. Thank God for phone cards.

I never racked up a big phone bill but I spent about $1,000 over a 2 month period in long distance phone cards. I'm so glad she has broadband internet and we can use Skype voice/cam chat. I still buy a $50 card once in a while but it lasts me a month or two now.

Skype.com - CHEAP international calling! I pay $.05 per minute to a Colombian Landline and $.09 per minute to a Colombian Cellphone!

Mobilecaller.com - CHEAP international calling. Program your house and cell #'s into the online account and set your significant other as a speed dial #. Call the 800 number, enter a 3 digit pin, select the speed dial # and your connected! Varying plans, but $.05 to $.065 per minute for me!

I have never spent more than $25-$35.00 per month and we talk daily on the phone and nightly on webcam!
