Hi! Would be grateful if somebody could tell us how long does it take to transfer the case to NVC after the approval? Thanks.

It can take 2 weeks to 8 weeks. 1 week after approval you should be callingf NVC everyday for case#. Here go to NVC filers thread and read Post#1 and #2. You need to start preparing. Congratulations by the way.

I am also waiting for the same answer. I got an update that it was shipped to NVC.

When should i start calling NVC and start bugging them for my case number ?

I dont think the AVR exists anymore.

It doesn't, it was discontinued in early 2012.

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

All of us are facing delays. Most likely to this holiday

But keep on calling after the 1st week.

IN HARD COPY OF NOA2 they mentioned after 30 days you can mail them if you do not get any response

as now holidays may be going on so you can try from april first week and bug them

find our first whether your file reached to NVC OR NOT

It really depends on which USCIS office had it at the time of adjudication.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Just wondering so when they email you "On January 16, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. " means they did not do it physically? Or should I ask, does every approved case comes with that email?

Approved 6 Months and 4 Days after NOA1. 1 Month and 3 weeks and 4 days since case was transferred to NSC.

July 12, 2013 - NOA1

November 21, 2013 - case transferred to NSC

January 16, 2014 - NOA2

January 16, 2014 - Shipped to NVC

January 28, 2014 - NVC Received

March 10, 2014 - Case Number and IIN assigned; Provided beneficiary's email address.

March 11, 2014 - DS-261 Available and submitted to NVC

March 11, 2014 - AOS Fee invoice available & paid

March 13, 2014 - AOS package sent to NVC

March 14, 2014 - AOS Bill Payment "PAID"

March 17, 2014 - AOS package Delivered to NVC

March 20, 2014 - IV invoice icon changed from locked folder to yellow exclamation. Only for my daughters' case, my son's case icon still locked folder.

March 21, 2014 - Daughters' IV invoiced and Paid

March 25, 2014 - Son's IV invoice icon changed from locked folder to yellow exclamation.

March 27, 2014 - Son's IV invoiced and Paid

March 27, 2014 - IV package sent to NVC

March 28, 2014 - IV package Delivered to NVC

March 31, 2014 - Completed DS-260

April 3, 2014 - Received AOS Checklist (Daughter's Name)

Up to 8 weeks?! Do they strap the petitions to the back of a tortoise with a penchant for getting lost?! Actually that wouldn't surprise me with USCIS!
