Hey guys we were wondering since we are getting the wedding ready for next week, when we file for the green card would my fiance have to include his medical sealed envelope with the forms and documents we send when filing for the green card? He got this sealed medical examination packet with his visa when it came via DHL in Germany. Or is it best to wait until they ask for it if needed? He was told at his consulate in Frankfurt that when they ask for it he should give it to them. cool.png

Since you have no timeline here on VJ, timeline.gif and by the way you are asking, I will assume that your fiancé has yet to enter the US using the K-1 visa, because at the POE (point of entry) the CBP takes the sealed brown envelope. Depending on whether the medical was complete or not depends on whether your fiancé needs an I-693 from a civil surgeon in the US or just complete the DS-3025 or just get the required vaccinations in the US and note them on the I-693. You might want to read the guides as linked by the previous poster to see what you need to do for filing for AOS.

Good luck,

Dave

Thank you for your replies everyone :) my fiancé came at the POE on December 15th and he got his social in the mail today so next week we will marry and they took his brown envelope at POE he still has his white medical envelope so basically we include that along with all the other documents and forms when we file for the green card right? :)

Yes. Apparently Germany is one of the countries where they provide a separate sealed envelope with duplicate medical documents for you to include when you file for AOS. Most countries do not provide such a thing.

That's correct. You receive a separate small sealed envelope that is not being taken at the POE and that you include with your AOS documents.

My wife went to the Frankfurt Consulate in October 2013. They only gave her one envelope. It has a cd of her xray in it. The CBP officer did not open the envelope. We still have the envelope and are about to file I-485. I suppose we will just send it in with the whole packet and the DS-3025?
