Wait, the guy who oversaw the massive delays in processing I-130s and did barely anything about it for months has been promoted?

Gotta love government. protest6wz.gif

The reason the fax might be is that the man you're sending it to was just promoted:

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=113&session=1&vote=00285

I'm not sure how many Visa Journeyers follow U.S. politics closely but the U.S. Senate recently voted to change the rules regarding executive nominations. Before a 60 vote majority was needed to end debate or 'filibusters' and move to a final vote for nominations. Now only a simple majority is needed. The man who was in charge of USCIS is now Deputy Director of DHS. His confirmation was one of the first to come since the rules change and the Senate voted party lines 55-45. I suspect his office is either off celebrating, packing it up for the holidays, or boxing things up for the new office already.

I am having a totally normal apoplectic washerwoman reaction to this.

Either that or this country is going to hell.

I DID SENT it already I am a MAY 1st filer. And I also recieved this ,, check this out.

I just wanted to update you on your case. Your wife’s i-130 petition application, MSC 13 910 xxxxxxx, file by Randi XXXXXXXX on behalf of Olga XXXXXXXXXX is still under the normal processing times. The estimated processing time for i-130 petition is an additional 5 months from today’s date. These delays are due to workload factors not related to your constituent’s case. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from USCIS by that date, please contact our office once again so I can look into it.

Thank you.

Numbers matter. The squeaky wheels get the grease. We, the constituents of our elected officials, and we, the customers and employers of the USCIS, are merely politely asking that promises that are made to us are kept.

I encourage all fellow "Visa Journeyers" to weigh in, even if you are past this point in the process!

"Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding this issue with our office. As you may know, the Ombudsman’s Office is independent from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Under the authority of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the Ombudsman’s Office works in an impartial manner to assist individuals and employers who experience problems during the USCIS benefits seeking process, largely to identify and formulate recommendations to improve the process. Please be assured that the Ombudsman’s Office treats information received from stakeholders as confidential. Your input has been shared with individuals in our office who are monitoring these types of issues, and it will be considered as we develop recommendations to improve USCIS’ practices and procedures. Furthermore, the Ombudsman’s Office is dedicated to working with USCIS to enhance intra-agency coordination and communication, and improve the immigration process and enhance transparency for customers. Our office hosts regular meetings with USCIS, and will discuss these concerns at the next meeting. We would also welcome the opportunity to meet with you and further discuss this issue if you would like."

It's the same boilerplate response people received from the Ombudsman's office last time. What strikes me as odd about this email is that it had no salutation or signature, and it also used different fonts in a couple of places. The above text is 100% of what I received in the email, and it looks extremely unprofessional.

I think we need the same force of concerned citizens, spouses and families to show up like we did last time.

Maybe highlighted the original post and encourage more people to do this if they haven't.
