I applied 20 December, name has a hit yet was told to pick up the clearance on 27 December. I applied at a Metro Manila NBI clearance satellite office.

The problem with NBI, they're NEVER consistent with their procedures. "Swertihan" or "para-paraan" lang talaga. wink.png

I'll be picking up my NBI clearance end of this week and my interview is still in Feb 2014. I think I'll make it!

The reason it's being 'expedited' is because NBI will be doing computer system maintenance and they need to release by 27 December all clearance applications submitted by 20 December. That's what the guy doing the biometric fingerprint scan told me anyway.

What specific NBI satellite office did you apply in?

I took a pic but here's the text version of the notice posted at the NBI Satellite Office:

To further improve the delivery of service of clearance processing system, please be advised that the NBI main clearance processing center including regional, district and satellite offices will be closed temporarily on December 24, 26, and 27 of 2013 to give way for our systems upgrade.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Atty. Medardo G. de Lemos

ok po tnx for sharing...ill go check my luck on the 28th:)

Yes, it doesn't hurt to try. Plus the notice clearly says the system upgrade is for ALL of NBI, not just for one particular satellite office.

December 28 is a Saturday...you might want to go on the 27th, that would be Friday. They might be closed on a weekend. December 30, 31 and January 1 are all holidays.
