December 2013 NOA-2 for CR-1/IR-1

Hi kababayans!

To those who got their NOA-2 this December, let's update each other on this thread. Since this is under Regional forum, I believe we can speak tagalog or bisaya.

I am a May filer and we just got our NOA-2 last December 12, 2013. To be specific: On December 12, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

We were advised to wait for 30-40 days to get a case number from NVC.

How about you? I will be glad to hear your story. Any inputs regarding this stage will be very much appreciated.

To those filipinos who can give us their NVC stage experience, that will be great!

Hi Ema! We were approved the same day, never transferred, and we got our noa2 today from Lee's Summit.

I've read from other posts that it's now taking 8weeks max for NVC to receive our case and assign a case number. And ive also noticed that those who got approved last month are still waiting for their case number up to now..so i really dont know when i should start calling nvc.. :/

^Oh my, really? that's crazy! Thank you for sharing that information. I read on some posts that we can call NVC after a week to follow up. I also noticed on some, it only took them 15 days but their country is not Philippines though.

Those who got approved last month, are they from Philippines too?

Im not sure, i forgot lol but those from Philippines who got approved before us (first week of Dec) are also still waiting on their case#. Yeah im gonna try calling this thursday to check. i really hope it wont take 8weeks for us :/

I'm not sure how it goes from here so if anyone could point me in a direction to a thread to get me started it would be appreciated greatly. I know I need to fill out a ds260 but not sure if I start with that or if there is something I need to do first. Again we greatly appreciate the help!

Hello! Thank you and congratulations too!

For all I know, after you receive NOA2, USCIS will transfer your file to the National Visa Center (NVC) in New Hampshire. The NVC will run security checks on us and will assemble our file. They will issue an invoice for our Green Card fee.Once we receive the receipt for payment, we can submit our documents and forms to the NVC.

I am sorry to say that I do not have the thread from VJ for the NVC process, however you may take a look at this website for general advice on CR-1 visas: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

There is a lot of good advice here on the entire process.

Hi Congratulation to ALL of Us. I got approved Dec.3, 2013 but no hard copy yet, I wonder if they deliver to the petitioner address? or beneficiary address? I think I just have to wait let see...anyway I'm August filer. Goodluck to Us at NVC stage. God Bless All.

Congratulations to all of us indeed!

I believe they will only deliver it to the petitioner's address as my husband received it like 2 days ago. He is in California now.

I am so excited for all of us! Please keep us posted with your updates. God bless us all.

Hey charilyn! Congrats on ur approval

You can start calling this week and ask if they have already received your case..try to follow up every week if they still haven't. You can also start preparing documents needed for the AOS and IV packages while you wait for your case#. Read the first two posts in the NVC filers dec2013 thread, theyre pretty helpful.
