Honestly, it makes me insane when any TV show mentions immigration. Like "hey we'll get married and then ALL OUR PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED!" I also don't like how they elude to the fact that the marriages are shams. I hope they at least divulge into the process and interview step.

I'm just a bitter March filer still waiting for NOA2 though...

Gotta love this place! I just heard about this show and thought "Hey, maybe the folks on VJ would get a kick outta this". Sure enough, there are several (albeit merged) threads about this show .

I for one am pretty peeved on how TLC is portraying the process, as I was hoping that it would be less mail-order-brideish, and more I am marrying the person I love, and this is just an extra step that fate threw our way...ish.

Sigh. I am still going to watch it .

they are not even 'portraying the process'. Instead they found the trainwreck couples, and are showing the trainwrecks on TV.

Think it like this way - 6 'mcat' couples were found, and all gets their business aired on the TV. I view it similar to 'Millionaire Matchmaker meets HoneyBooBoo' in terms of entertainment value and ad revenue.

I remember how a couple of months ago the producers were looking for couples here on VJ. Guess they have found someone who was willing to "expose" themselves on TV. This show will just give wrong ideas to all those people in the U.S. who do not know much/anything about immigration.

Well, TLC must make money with something I guess!

The producers messaged me on here a few months ago. I thought about replying, and then thought about TV in general and figured they would make it into a reality show with completely wrong information to make a buck. I guess I was right. What a joke this show sounds like. Not only do they miss the whole point of the K-1 Visa, but they sensationalize the 90 days to marry part. I would bet most people were like me before applying. I knew 6+ months before we even applied for the visa that I found the one.

It's a shame that they wouldn't follow someone from the first meeting after talking online for 6 months and then through the stresses of applying and then waiting 6+ months or something like this. I'm sure most of you would agree with me that the waiting was the hardest part, once they arrive in the US the hard part is already done and over with. I'd be very interested in watching something like this, but this would be far too "normal" to get good TV ratings.

This show doesn't make any sense to me, it seems more like a soap opera, which is probably will be.
