Hi All,

I have a question. CR1 visa has been granted to my spouse but because of some marital problems we would like to end our relationship. Is it possible for me to inform the immigration authorities if my spouse still decides to travel to US. Is it possible for my spouse to enter into US even if we end up our relationship.

Thanks in Advance

You say "if we end our relationship". Are you or not? Obviously, you're not yet divorced. She can still enter as your wife.

I see from your timeline that the visa was granted in August. When was the medical? The visa has an expiry date of 6 months from the medical. If it's not used by then, it'd not valid for use anymore.

You as the petitioner can call embassy and DOS and see if you can have Visa revoked. A pending divorce may do it. But please be sure and make sure this is not out of spite.

Why does it sound like immigration fraud? She hasn't even used the visa that's been in her possession since August and they are not divorced.

All I'm saying is: getting a divorce after getting the visa is suspicious! I did not say it was fraud, but it may lead to some questions later on

Send a note to the consulate and advise them you are going to dissolve your marriage. That is all you can really do at this point.

Hi All,

Please let me clarify something. we are not divorced yet. I have following questions in my head:

2) Is it possible for my spouse to enter US if I file for the divorce?

If you do nothing she can enter with or without a divorce. It's not like immigration follows you after a visa.

She can have Visa. Fly into whatever city or state,. She is legal and has the green card to prove it.

She did no fraud, she is not the one

contemplating divorce, OP don't U

want to give it a chance? U may just

be cold-feet at losing your independence.

I would not advice U to sulley the ladys

name with USCIS if she has done nothing

wrong to you, don't report anything she is still

your wife.
