Hi everybody!

My fiance and I just started to fill the forms for our fiancee visa. We are trying to do it carefuly. We are having a hard time cause we are so concerned about the RFE and we have so many questions about how to fill the forms and all that. We have been reading this forum and It's been really helpful! Thanks so much! It also feels good to know that you are not alone in this and that there's other people doing the same paperwork and being away from their loved ones.

I would like to ask if someone knows how to fill the city and country of birth if you were born in a village, do you have to write the name of the village and the country or name of the village, province or state and country?

Good luck guys! and thank you!

Welcome to VJ, si man! It's great that you're studying the forums -- keep it up.

In regard to forms, one of VJ's wisest members has said, "Read carefully, interpret literally, and answer completely and honestly." Give the required information plus any extra if it would alleviate doubt or difficulty in identifying the location. No need to go overboard.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I totally understand how you feel. I was very scared to get an RFE too when we sent our petition. My best advice is keep it a team effort. Get your fiance to go through the directions and forms with you. Try not to second guess yourself too much. And if you do get an RFE, don't be too hard on yourself. It happens to the best of us. The guides here on VJ are extremely helpful, and so are the members. We are here if you have more questions. Good luck :)

Hey AnnaK1,

My fiance and I recently got NOA2 approved and I was a nervous wreck over the paper work & submissions for I129F.

In particular I worried about getting a RFE, today I am pleased to say we did not recieve one.

There is a wealth of information available here on the " Guides" which is very helpful.

However I would admit it did fluster me a bit, my fiance kept me in check by esnuring we stick to what the I129F Instructions requested.

The process is a team effort, keep calm together & ensure to review for errors.

I wish you a great journey. goofy.gif

I guess you all guys had the same feeling of wanting to finish the first step and get it sent so you could at least feel that something is done! :)

"Place of Birth” always means country of birth. I read this from the USCIS website: http://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-and-fees/tips-filing-petitions-and-applications-national-benefits-center

I understand that birth certificates from different countries have different format but I think that as long as the country is correct, it should be fine.

Hope this helps!

Thanx! It does help!!. I sent a mail to the embassy here and they said country and at least a city, although the closer the information is to the birth certificate info the better :)

hahahaha, well It sounds extreme but I have not much time and I spend a couple hours a day on the bus so I always feel that is the best way to take advantage of it ;)
