Depends on the Service Center. Our I-130 was approved on Sep 27th and reached NVC on Oct 15th. Got the case number on Oct 21st. So about 4 weeks from I-130 approval was the time it took for us.

Quick question: anyone know the approximate timeline of when NVC receives the package to when a case number will be issued? Mine was shipped today!

I got our case number by calling the NVC. The first time I called was at about 10 days AFTER I received the paper NOA2 in my mail. They said it was too soon to call about such and that I needed to wait 2 to 3 weeks from the notice date... so I called back 4 days later and they gave me our new case number (KEVxxxxxxxxxx). My fiancee' (now wife) was able to SCHEDULE her medical and consulate interview before i ever received the hard copy in the mail. I did, eventually, receive the paper copy in the mail and still had enough time to scan it and send a copy of it to her, before her medical/interview, just in case they wanted to see the paper, and not just the number.

Hope this helps.

Good luck to you two on your journey together! smile.png
