I am aware that entering the U.S on a K1 visa is a one time entry and leaving without adjustment of status complete or an AP is a very very bad idea (resulting in not being able to get back in). I am currently awaiting my interview should be soon now moving from UK to Dallas and will be getting married within first few weeks of arrival (we were hoping for 21st October). While I am waiting been looking at various Honeymoon ideas. Up to now they have all been confined to the USA for the obvious reason. However today the idea of a cruise came up, all nights are on board the ship though you do get off for a few hours a day in Montego Bay, Jamaica and Mexico. I would be leaving from Galveston, Houston and returning there.

Any one have any ideas or comments regarding this idea.

My comment regarding the cruise idea you specifically stated is this, until you have your green card or AP Document in-hand, I say this:

DON'T DO IT

I think the problems associated with showing valid entry permission will be troublesome.

You might just get 'waived through' if you truly hold a UK passport, but

is also possible any adjustment of status process might be seen to be 'abandoned' because you left the USA seemingly holding just a 'single-use, single-entry' visa.

I say, don't do it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sure, cruises are great. Love the idea!

I'd love to go to Jamaica! However, if you do this, plan a return flight back to the Uk. You probably won't be able to return to the US with our AP or your green card since you would have left the US (obviously).

good luck

Sedona is gorgeous in October and November.

Just saying...

OTOH, if you want to be on the water, in a private spot, in a boat,

you should chase after houseboat rental with concierge service. And not leave the dock.

DON'T DO IT.

Go to San Antonio for a few days. Four hour drive. Always charming and fun along the Riverwalk. Save the cruise for a greencard celebration.

(I used to work on cruise ships).

At our line, all passports were collected at the beginning of the voyage, and kept for clearance at each port of call. Often, they are stamped at each port, regardless of whether you get off the ship or not.

It's a pretty big gamble for you to say maybe they won't stamp my passport. I'd say don't do it.

If you did want to take a cruise, try the riverboats or hire a small yacht from San Diego and go to the Catalinas... :-)

Anything that requires you to leave the 48 states, will result in non admission.

48? Are you saying Hawaii and Alaska aren't allowed until you have Advanced Parole?
