Hey friends,

I posted this in the K1 Process section, but figure this might be a more appropriate spot now that I think about it. It's kind of a Canadian question.

When looking through my passport, I came across a few stamps that look like this upon my entering to the United States. Some of them had nothing written, just the stamp-- but 2 of them had B2 written on the little line. My confusion is I'm not sure if these simple stamps count as a B2 visa, or if everything falls under our special "clause" us Canadians have with the United States.

post-147909-0-02994500-1378756136_thumb.

So I guess my question is this:

1 - For question 30 on the DS-156 (Have you ever been issued a U.S Visa?),

do I select "Yes" and put B2 Visa? And, are the rest of my stamps that look like this (without B2 being written) also considered to be B2 Visa's?

2 - For question 31 on the DS-156 (Have you ever been denied a U.S VIsa?),

do I select "Yes" for being denied since I've been denied entry to the U.S in the past?

Once again, any help given is GREATLY appreciated. sad.png

We just received our NOA2 about on September 2nd, and apparently it's been valid since July 12th.. so we are on an EXTREMELY tight schedule with with the amount of time given to us..

Thank you for your time

Never had my passport stamped but for your 2nd question the answer is yes you do write you were denied. Not sure if you got a paper saying when where etc but i did. just explain why you were denied, it won't hurt you at all. and it does show up in the computer.

I had that on some of my us entry stamps and they didn't look twice at is. Were you ever issued a us visa for school, work etc? I think the B2 is just a code/note that they write at their end.

All the best!

No I've never been issued any sort of official Visa, just these little stamps on the passport with "B2" written in the space. Thank you, you as well!

Yeah, I got a piece of paper (that they printed off in greek...?) and I accidentally left it there when I was leaving the backroom where they checked my luggage. Did you put "B2" as the type of visa when you were denied? Thank you so much for your response!

I have B2 written there on every stamp on my passport! One of them even has a date written underneath (6 months from entry). I put 'no' to ever have been issued a visa. I never thought twice about the 'B2'.

Haha really? :P

Hmmm.. well if it isn't a B2, I have absolutely no idea what I put under Question #31 for my denial.

I would say no.. because you were denied entry, not a visa, since you are Canadian and we don't need a visa to go into the States. I seem to remember there being a question in one of the forms of packet 3 that specifically asked if you were ever denied entry into the US. I would think that is the only question you would say yes to.

ya i meant write yes to being denied. We technically don't get issued visa's, we are a special case. so unless you got a student visa or something to that effect i'd say no to the visa.

I would put no as you didn't apply for any visas.

Ahh okay, so I'd say "No" to both questions since I'd technically never been issued a Visa-- and then for question 38, where one of the questions simply asks "Have you ever been refused admission to the United States, or....." then that would be where I check "Yes".

I really appreciate this, thanks for taking the time to answer me
