Hi,

I am new to this site and I am not sure where to post my questions, so if this is the wrong place and someone can redirect me, I would greatly appreciate it! Now, on to my question. I received, or rather my attorney received, a letter with the information needed to make the interview appointment in Havana. I called and was told to give it two weeks. In that time, my fiancé received a letter from the consulate telling him to go pick up some paperwork. He did this and received a letter telling him that his petition was ready to be processed along with papers he must have filled out for the interview. I called again today, three weeks after my first phone call, and they still don't have the case on file. Has anyone gone through this? Does anyone happen to know how long it will take for them to have the case on file?

Thanks in advance!

Liliana

In case anyone has the same problem, a friend helped me find a solution. I was told that when I called the embassy and they asked me whether this was an interview for an immigrant or non-immigrant, to say immigrant. This is the reason every time I called, they could not find my case - I was on the wrong side. Make sure when you call you say this is a visa for a non-immigrant (I-129F). This delayed our process by a whole month, so do not make the same mistake I did!
