USCIS sent my petition directly to the Moscow consulate

I receive our NOA2 for our I-129f and the first sentence says "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Is this possible? Does anyone else have this on their NOA2?

All I-129F approval notices state this, but they will be dispatched to the NVC first. It's poor phrasing on USCIS' part.

Read these Dept. of State FAQs for the real story. All approved I-129f petitions are sent to the Department of State's NVC from the respective USCIS Service Center.

That's the standard text of NOA2. It means nothing. It goes through NVC. I don't know why they can't change the text to reflect reality, but that's USCIS for you.

1/4/13 - I129-F Sent | 1/8/13 - Received by USCIS
1/10/13 - NOA1 to VSC | 1/11/13 - Text/Email | 1/17/13 - Hard Copy Received
1/16/13 - Alien Registration Number changed
5/24/13 or 5/29/13 - Case Transferred to TSC
7/2/13 - NOA2 from TSC! (173 days from NOA1) | 7/6/13 - Hard Copy Received
7/18/13 - Shipped to NVC | 7/26/13 - Received at NVC and case number assigned
7/29/13 - In transit to consulate | 7/31/13 - Received by consulate

i suppose it would be like saying, "We sent your petition to the U.S. Postal Service for transmission to Blah of Blahblah."

do they really need to specify that it was sent to NVC? i vote no.

The reason I asked is because the customer service representative at USCIS told me that was not sent to NVC and was sent directly to the consulate. So it was the reason for my questions. I completely understood that the previous process was to send it to NVC first. Maybe they have a new process. So it's really not Blah blah blah.

Unless you file through DCF, immigrant (or K nonimmigrant) petitions always go through NVC; there is no new process.
