Just read the news Obama sent a memo DHS to "not" deport parents of minors.

Judge O'Conner already said Obama is wrong/illegal sending these memos instructing DHS who to deport, but it's not in the judge's discretion to make a ruling to stop Obama. Someone/some other body of government needs to do this.

So it seems if people just have an anchor baby, then they're free to stay in the U.S.

I think Obama has gone overboard, abusing his power and someone needs to put him in check.

Wondering what others thought.

Hey there. I'm not agreeing nor disagreeing with what you have heard. The media likes to always exaggerate on things when it comes to politics especially immigration. I believe that you aren't gonna get that many people on here to agree with you due to the nature of the Web page. The question to you is if it is true that Obama ruled to avoid deportation on parents of us kids, shy are you against it? Are you a son or daughter of an immigrant or have you been an immigrant yourself? Whether you and your parents came here legally or not you would have still been admitted with an "Immigrant" visa.

I would have to disagree with you. Many people on this board are very strict when it comes to following the rules of immigration. Most if not everybody here does not like it when people take advantage of the system because it has a negative effect on people doing the process the right way such as getting kicked back further in line.

As Samberb0408 stated above...I'd say you are most definetely in the wrong place to be posting that kind of stuff...and as I always say...unless you're in someone else's shoes, you will never know the real feeling, experience, agony, etc., of the person wearing the shoes.

We're here seeking assistance/help in our immigration journey and/or to help/assist other Vjers with their problems, not to entertain your political agenda.

I'm a victim of marriage fraud. And she (the exwife) is using our son and to come to the u.s. her family in Vietnam is using her stay in the u.s. to make money. I don't think she deserves to be in the u.s. I told her I was open to her and our son moving back to Vietnam but she refuses and wants to live her without papers. she's become a parasite living off of our child's child support money. So that's where I'm coming from.

Nothing published suggests that Obama did anything at all. Seems that the right wing echo chamber is getting its panties all in a wad over an ICE enforcement directive that deals with illegal immigrant parents of US citizen children. Not sure what Obama did exactly. He certainly did not send that memo as the OP falsely claims.

While Obama himself didn't write or sign the memo, the acting director of ICE did. Guess who the acting director of ICE ultimately works for? It's naive to think that Obama doesn't approve of this policy. It's also naive to think that if Obama didn't approve of it, that it would be policy.

Obama is the head of the executive branch of the government, so this policy is Obama's policy. I'm sure he'll be taking credit for it at some point in a speech to try and sway Hispanic voters.

I see you're new here. It's Obama's policy when it's a policy people like. When it's not, it's some bureaucrat's policy or it's Bush's fault. Hope that clears it up.

I get it, attention to detail isn't your forté. The OP stated that "...Obama is wrong/illegal sending these memos instructing DHS who to deport". Problem is that there is no memo that Obama sent to DHS instructing them not to deport parents of US citizen children. The President does issue directives from time to time to the executive branch - those are known as executive orders. There isn't one here. Thus, unless you can point to an executive order that Obama has issued directing DHS not to deport illegal immigrant parents of US citizen children, the OP was incorrect in making that statement.

Just as you were incorrect the other day when you falsely claimed that the debt increased more under Obama's watch than under all previous presidents combined.

I had already acknowledged the presence of this story in the right wing echo chamber. The Washington Times is certainly part of that. Always has been.

www.whitehouse.gov - if there is such directive, it should be found in the "Presidential Actions" section. Good Luck and do report back with your findings.
