Hello all,

Last Friday, my fiancée was approved (K1 visa).

So I decided to post her journey in CDJ hoping someone could benefit from this past experience.

She decided to schedule her ASC appointment in Mexico City (a week earlier).

Therefore she only needed to be in CDJ for her medical exam and her interview.

Word of advice, Tuesday through Thursday is the most convenient time to visit CDJ, since it isn't too crowd it.

Thursday morning (6:00 am) she lined up outside the clinic.

Try to have your CDJ letter ready, as sometimes the security guard want to double check.

Once inside they ask you for your CDJ letter, your passport and your DS-260 (they will return these documents before you leave)

She was done with her medical examination past 8:00 am.

If you need to have any missing vaccines, just ask them nicely, and they will give them to you but remember that they are quite pricey!

She picked her medical record after 2:00 pm.

Friday morning, her appointment was scheduled at 7:15 am.

Make sure you have everything in order.

As soon as she entered, she was given a ticket number and was told to wait for the number to appear in the monitors locate in the seating area (once your number appears it will tell you the window number).

The normal wait time for this first part was approximately 1.5 hours.

She was finally called, and asked to present everything. Make sure you have everything in order especially your I-134.

After your documents are inspected they will give you another ticket number (same routine).

The normal wait time is 1.5 hours and once your number is called up.

The officer behind the window will have your file and he will ask you some simple questions while he goes through your application and passport.

They already know if they will approve your application beforehand but they just want to double check everything.

If you submitted any pictures, they will return them to you.

I'm sure I missed a could of details so if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best of luck to you all.

CONGRATULATIONS!

My fiancé will be going through the Juarez consulate as well.

We are still waiting though for NVC to receive or case, so I think we have a way to go still.

Why do you feel as though ciudad Juarez had already decided to approve you guys BEFORE the interview?

What questions did they ask your fiancé?

Thanks for any input you can give me ?

Hi,

Call the NVC center and ask for your fiancée's CDJ case number.

You don't need to wait for the consulate's letter to schedule your fingerprint and consulate appointments.

They asked my fiancée who was the petitionary, why she had gone to China, where she lives and works.

Once she was told she had been approved; the officer opened her filed and pulled out a sheet.

This letter states what the CO said and instructs you how to track your DHL package

I hope this helps

I think they can sometimes have a really good idea about your case already, but not every CO is the same and not every case is the same. Some are asked more questions than others. Some are asked for more evidence than others. It is never a black and white blanket procedure for all. You can read through the reviews for Juarez to get an idea of what typically happens at an interview. If one person states it went a certain way for them, so it will be the same for you...well... maybe, but maybe not. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Yes, my fiancé and I are preparing for the fact that they may ask us for anything.

So in the meantime, I'm going to start printing up all our relationship evidence (whatsapp chats, Skype video screen shots & Facebook chats).

I want to send him as much as possible.

I'll send him all of the above in addition to the only 7 pictures we took while I visited him.

We are confident this will be enough to show them we are in love and ready to marry ?

What vaccines are needed? We are thinking of going to the centro de salud in our town and having them before we o to Juarez.

They typically refuse to give the vaccinations for those applying for a K-1 going through Juarez. They most likely will not even bother to look at your vaccination record or transcribe them onto the DS-3025. They often give no DS-3025 or a useless blank one. All that being said, getting them for free/cheap in Mexico can still be helpful. You can bring those vaccination records with you to the US and take them to the civil surgeon you will need to see for an I-693 when adjusting status.

Required vaccinations are> at least one in a series for MMR, Tdap or TD, varicella(unless you have had chickenpox already) and the flu shot(only required during flu season, Oct. - Mar.).
