CRI89 transferred to local field office from VSC

I am eagerly looking forward to this thread as this is what I got in email today (and of course without an RFE)

On August 22, 2013, we transferred your CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

How do I even know what local office it is if I have more than 2 field office (I.e. New York or New Jersey)?

Olaru_Steve: please keep this post up if you find a direction. Contacting USCIS seems like a good idea at this moment, though not sure how effective that can be. However I don't think transferring a case to local office without an RFE is that uncommon. Do we know what is the basis of these statistics?

Best regards,

Best regards,

hellraiser, when did you send your ROC, do biometrics and receive that update?

The local office is located in the same city/area you live in.

I'm in Brooklyn, so the local field office is also in Brooklyn, even though the one located in Manhattan is much closer to me.

Hellraiser, What is NOA1 of your application? I wonder if applications received by VCS on/around june 3 rd are being transferred to local field office? You are the fourth person to receive similar update on the same case that i know of. Service centers are transfering files to balance workload but not sure if they are doing same by sending to local office.

Only three things could be possible as mentioned by Steve D above.

1) offload workload

2) qa - possible interview

3) something raised red flag which need to resolve in person - interview

Let us share the update and keep updated on your case to all. Also there is a thread for june filers and i would recommend you to join that group as well.

I am in NJ and they have two local office: Newark and Mount Laurel, pretty much similar distance from my home.

All the info is in my timeline but here is it:

CIS Office : Vermont Service Center

Date Filed : 2013-06-04

NOA Date : 2013-06-10

RFE(s) :

Bio. Appt. : 2013-07-09

Does that mean I can demand (not that I can make any demand to USCIS) on September 10 because that would hit the 90 day mark?

Just as a joke; this would be my response to the 3 options/reasonings

1) offload workload - accepted

2) qa - possible interview - would slap the interviewer because the amount of document and information I sent ;-)

3) something raised red flag which need to resolve in person - interview - would slap again for even raising a red flag. That's how straight and simple my case is ;-)

Apart from the joke, I wish I could do something about this. Not sure what is the case and these options are basically open-ended. I am guessing nothing will happen and I will get the approval without an interview (for my wifey)

So do I still call USCIS if I don't get an update by Sept 10????

Thanks,

It's very funny, yet not funny at the same time!

I'm worried now... even though I shouldn't be!

We sent them a lot of paperwork, including out baby's birth certificate and a new mortgage together.

I wonder if moving to a new address is what triggered it, otherwise, I can't think of anything else that could cause red flags.

I am not sure which field office will your application be transferred? I am assuming if you are staying within the same zip code as before your AOS interview, same field office has jurisdiction over your case.

Regarding 90 day period, if you don't get interview notice within 90 days, you probably wont get one not sure because i am only guessing.

Given the volume of applications, not sure if field office are abide by law to send notice of interview with in 90 days.

Interestingly enough, we received the same notice (8/22/13, actually), Steve. Our case was transferred from the VSC to the Orlando office. Like you, we sent in our info (listed below), did not get an RFE and this is the first correspondence we've had since his biometrics appointment. Wouldn't it be awesome if it was approved without an interview? dancin5hr.gif

Evidence Sent

GC copy

Joint lease agreement

Joint tax returns

Health insurance info (mine listing him as a beneficiary)

Life insurance info (mine listing him as a beneficiary)

Joint auto insurance

Joint bank statements

We did not include photos, letters, cards, etc. and to be quite honest, I was expecting an RFE for that reason alone (we have it, I just had a brain fart and forgot to send it). Guess we'll sit tight and see if the local office needs it. I'll keep you updated on my end.
