People like to throw around the car comparison alot. In 2009 there was estimated to be ~255 million cars in the U.S.

So cars kill and injure more people than guns and there are less of them. You have a higher risk of being killed in a car accident than you do of being killed by a gun. We need to regulate cars more!

Cars serve a purpose. I can't see guns being as relevant as cars in everyday life. It's almost like some kind of weird sci-fi movie where the guns keep reproducing and the only way to stop them is produce more guns.

IMO it would be best if only the cops and the military had guns. An exception for hunting would be cool. Unfortunately, that's not realistic due to the sheer number of legal and illegal guns, and the whole second amendment thing.

Makes sense to me... the car comparison. also swimming pools. people drown every day in swimming pools but YOU own one so we cannot ban them. ... You hate guns so lets ban them. Restrict them what ever. I live in a world that is different than yours. I do not fear for my life however there are times in the past I am glad I owned one and needed to use one. For what ever reason. You say who needs more than 7 rounds. Well Where I live there are 2 leo's on duty in our county( after midnight). Report a break in and it could take up to a half an hour for them to arrive. (a proven fact). In the last 5 years there have been 2 home invasions within 5 miles of where I live of 4 or more suspects. They tied up the home owners after pistol whipping them. So who are you to say how many bullets I may need in my AR15. You will not be there to help me protect my life . I don't want a level playing field when that happens. If I am in that situation I want all the fire power I can put my hands on. .We pray this never happens. No sane person desired to take another life. In most classes on on conceal carry dive home the fact that the best defense in a shooting is not to be there. . You do not need to buy that 12 pack at 1 am in the 7-11.. Plan ahead. The fact is There are bad people who desire to do you harm walking in your neighborhoods. All over the world in every country.

Cars have other purposes. Swimming pools have other purposes. Water doesn't exist to kill.

Your ridiculous argument makes absolutely no sense to anyone who takes more than a minute to think about it.

If cars and guns are the same, more people would be using cars as deliberate murder weapons.

I seriously question the intelligence of anyone who thinks this is a valid comparison.

The fact is There are bad people who desire to do you harm walking in your neighborhoods. All over the world in every country.

The fact also is that all over the world people as much less paranoid than you. They live long and happy and healthy lives without any handguns or rifles in their homes or on their person. And the fact also is that those people are much less at risk of becoming victims of gun violence. All over the world. In every country. Even right here.

I don't hate guns. I actually kinda like them. But I think there's too many and its getting out of control. You want a gun from protection from other guns. Isn't that f'ed up that you have to protect your house with a gun? Doesn't it worry you that you might have to have a fire fight in your home? The less guns available in the country, and the less the odds of that happening will be. That's all.

I'm probably the safest, most logical gun owner you'll ever meet. I am not a "gun nut". My life doesn't revolve around guns. I don't eat, sleep and drink guns. I don't think anyone is out to get me. I can go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and don't feel the need to bring a gun with me. I don't see the cars as a silly comparison in all instances. I'm logical and I see both sides to most every issue.
