Hello,

We are very happy that we were approved for the NOA2 on July 19, 2013. It is good till November 19, 2013.

USCIS notified us on August 8, 2013 that the I129-F file was being forwarded to NVC and when they receive it and file it we will get a new case number.

I am worried that we will get an interview date for my Fiancee for Bratislava while he is in his vacation here from August 30, 2013 till September 27th, 2013.

The airplane tickets have already been purchased. His vacation days have all been approved and taken for Aug 27 - Sept 30. This was done before we got our NOA.

We have reserved vacation spots here where I live for camping, etc. Already paid for.

So.... it would be complicated if not impossible to get refunds for all of this.

He can get his police report and his appointment at his regular Doctor before he leaves Slovakia and he has an appointment already made for his medical with an approved Doctor Oct 3rd. She is on vacation the next two weeks so he cant get the medical before he leaves for USA.

Does anyone have any advice of what we should do if we get the new case number and interview, etc while he is in the USA and is there any way to contact them to let the Conuslate know he will be here in USA before they set up an appointment with him at his Consulate in Bratislava and he can get it as soon as he returns to Slovakia? Please... any comment, advice and help would be greatly apprecaited.

~Deborah

P.S. I need to update that we got the NOA2 on my timeline as soon as I figure how to do it again! Sorry!!!

From the "Embassy Info" link atop every VJ page:

E-mail the consulate and explain. They should be understanding.

I do not know how long it takes your embassy to contact the visa applicant but perhaps you should contact them, let them know your situation and find out about getting an appointment date for sometime after Sept. http://slovakia.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiance-visas-k1.html

Contact link is in the upper right. There is an email listed and phone numbers for visa applicants.

Hello, I thought I would post this in here. I thankfully received this from the Sydney Consulate regarding an extension of the petition approval period as I would be overseas for several months an unable to attend my interview until AFTER the expiration of the petition 4 month period. It may be a relief and help to others in the future:

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

To revalidate your petition, please have your U.S. citizen fiancé provide you a letter, requesting that your petition be extended to a further 4 months from the approval date of the I-129F petition. This letter must be dated and signed by your fiancé.

The letter from your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) should state their intention to still marry you within 90 days of your arrival into the U.S. with the K-1 visa and that you both are still free to marry.

Please scan and email a copy of this letter to SydneyIV@state.gov

If your request for revalidation is approved your application will automatically be extended & you will not be notified, however, if it is denied, only then will we contact you within 5 business days to you to advise you further.

Thank you

U.S. Consulate General, Sydney

Immigrant Visa Unit

(CC)

Note: You should never pay for travel arrangements (e.g., airfare, hotels) without having a visa in your possession. The U.S. Consulate General accepts no responsibility if you do so. Generally, it will take 5 business days to print your visa and prepare your document package after your interview; however, we are unable to guarantee the issuance of a U.S. visa before a fixed travel date. You risk significant financial losses if you ignore this advice.

**** Please include your case number in all correspondence ****

Please think before you print. Do you really need to print this email?
