Hey VJs,

I have been permanent resident from last last 9-10 months only and I was in F1 ( Student Visa) . Now, I need to so submit I-864 form pretty soon but it asks for tax returns for recent three years, which i don't have because I never worked and I was in university. I worked part time in university but i also filed tax returns from my university in the year of 2010 and 2011.

Now, Do i need to submit those w2 forms too which i filed from my school . I used to make only 5,000 to 6,000 per year from my graduate assistantship which is like nothing in relation to poverty guidelines.

What if i don't send any W2 and send completed i 864 including my current job offer letter. I don't event have a pay stubs as i recently got the job .

Any suggestion would be appreciated .

Dude you have posted your question in wrong thread. That's why people are not replying. There is a different thread for 'family and marriage base us visa immigration discussion' .

Regarding your question, if you have filed the tax then you should get tax transcript from IRS. You can request that online. you tax transcript for 2012 too. if you didn't file your 2012 tax then it's better you mention the reason in separate letter while filing I864. If you currently got a job and your income is above the required level then that's fine. If not then you need to find the co-sponsor to support your case. As your previous years income is below the required level then I think it's better you put the co-sponsor. Just in case.

Another reason for no responses us that you contradict yourself. You say that you never worked in the most recent 3 years but in the next sentence you say that you did work and file returns in 2010 and 2011 ! So which is it ?
