Got divorced, chances of being denied??

Hi everyone.

I moved here from Germany in 2007 and came here on a K1 visa. I went through all the correct process and have had the 10 year GC since 2010.

So I have had my Greencard 5 1/2 years now altogether.

I was married almost 5 years but last year it ended in a divorce

I never left the country other than vacation home for around 2 weeks a couple of times each year.

No criminal history just one speeding ticket and a divorce which are both not "criminal".

Now I would like to know what my chances are applying and being divorced?

I want my ex husband to no longer be my sponsor on all this. (The sponsorship does not end in a divorce).

What are the chances of being denied?

What happens if your denied? You have to leave the country?

Your not going to be denied.. Your not going to have to leave. Just Apply .. Divorce happens.

Your marriage (or divorce) has no bearing on your approval/denial.

If you're denied citizenship, you remain an LPR, unless the reason you were denied citizenship is because you did anything illegal like pretending to be a USC etc

If you're denied because you failed to pass the civil/english test or whatever then you can just reapply later.

You will not be denied. You can apply under the 5 year rule since you had your green card for more than 5 years. They might ask you about your marriage but they will not deny you because you are divorced. Good luck.
