Fiance just picked up her fiance visa packet and the side is opened...will we have problems when she comes to the US for the POE?

Has anyone experienced this before?

What options do we have?

We called back to the Ciudad Juarez consulate and they said go to the Guadalajara Consulate and see if they can reseal it or come back to the Ciudad Juarez consulate? (what that sounds a little crazy"

Do we have to risk it and hope the POE will let her through?

Personally I would immediately try to get it sealed! This can be a major issue! Get it fixed asap!

You need to have the consulate fix it. I would not risk trying to enter the US with it open like that.

We both called Ciudad Juarez consulate and they said she needed to bring the documents back to get sealed. I said that's crazy...she lives 5 hours away from airplane, and that this was no fault of her own. The packet was like that due to shipping and poor packaging.

We come so far and a small detail like this can railroad you crying.gif

We are trying, but first i think we will authorization from Ciudad Juarez to do that. I have contacted my congressman again to see if they can assist in our behalf. I have sent additional photos with my letter to the congressman. I hope to hear back soon

Make sure you get this fixed before POE though.

In the Canada forum once we had a problem where the DHL (the courier service) opened the do not open package. They had to send the package back to the consulate and wait for it to come back before they could POE. Because it's not your fault, maybe you could try the courier service and see if they will send it back and bring it back for free expedited because it's their fault the package looks like it does!

I know, with Juarez being the only consulate that deals with these types of visas it is hard when you live so far away. Hopefully they either let you do it at another embassy or they allow you to return it through DHL to Juarez. I hope you get it all worked out soon.
