I just went through a service request because after my NOA2, they never sent the petition to NVC. They should have given you a target date for the SR. I received a notice exactly on the target date, they researched my file, found it was located in NRC (obviously they wont accept fault and say that, they'll say something like "were requesting your file from the repository"). They then had the petition sent to NVC.

Also try to send a request to Ombudsman and they can at least keep tabs on this well oiled agency to finish the job you had paid for. For me, Ombudsman told me the exact date my petition left USCIS to NVC.

Best of luck.

My I-129F k1 visa application is currently outside of normal processing times. I called to complain, and they said they would put in a Service Request. Anyone knows what typically happens after they put in a request?

This was the response I got. Not promising at all

February 6th filer awaiting approval while March, April and May get approvals. (AKA BS) Passed the 5 month mark on July 6th. Contacted USCIS multiple times and talked to tier 1 and 2 reps. Put in an e-request as well for my petition being "outside normal processing times". The response below is what I received via email, which basically says "ya we know, it will get done when it gets done." Don't count on them doing the job they outlined on their site. This system was designed with serious flaws and you can't navigate a maze of incompetence very well.

Official reply from CSC regarding "beyond processing times" e-request on July 24th 2013.

"We recognize and understand your interest in adjudicative action on your pending petition. While we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for adjudication, please know that your case will be pulled and routed to the appropriate unit for review as soon as is available."

Again, it essentially says, "ya ya ya, we will get to it when we get to it. Our governmental system in action people. This $#%! "runs" our country. No wonder we are in such a sad state!

Try calling again.....I just got my response from my service request back: It was weird,... first they notified me that they received my service request and that they would render a decision within 45 days, 2 days later (yesterday) they notified me of an address change (even though I never changed my address), then 1 hour later they notified me that a new alien number has been issued to me (I think it was the same notice i initially received when I got the NOA1 notice), then today they sent me an e-mail saying my petition has been approved!!!! It works. call and ask for another service request.

Yojoe, thanks for the info. Very much appreciated. Doing just that! Waiting for the tier 2 rep to contact me. I've done everything possible to get this "beyond processing time" rectified, including multiple calls to the USCIS, e-request, ombudsman assistance, calling a senator etc... Even phoned a friend! My hope is that if I am persistent and annoying enough, I can hold them accountable and get my delayed petition approved! I will update my experience after this 2nd tier 2 conversation.

It's sad when I see that we get all the same answer after putting in the service request:(...I think they forgot about Jan and Feb cases:(

Yes, very disappointing and disheartening. All we can do is keep banging on the door via e-requests, ombudsman etc... something will give. I refuse to just sit and wait and hope the system works. We will be successful. It is only a matter of time.

Yeap that's all we can do:call, send requests and hope for an answer.I can't make another e-request because the system doesn't let me do it so I have to wait for one more week:(.Last time when I called the Tier 2 said that they are working on my case right now, hard to believe:(

Yojoe, what's your NOA1date?I see you are a CSC filer too.

Update

After talking to a tier 2 representative for the second time, after receiving the initial response from CSC for the e-request I put in, I said I happen to know they are well into March and April petitions while ours goes neglected. She admitted that fact. She then says that although the response from CSC did not specifically admit that our petition was outside normal processing times nor did it outline a course of action that will be taken, they indeed are aware of it and will work on my petition as soon as possible. She made note that my petition has been assigned to an adjucator as of July 25th. That could be the result of the response I got from CSC on July 24th, or the inquiry I sent to ombudsman on the 24th after receiving CSC's unacceptable response. Who knows, but supposedly someone is finally assigned to my case and they will be working on it. Will keep you updated. Like Yojoe said, call again after you receive your response from your e-request or direct request. Can't hurt to bug them non stop until something happens.
